lol $28k is my entire discretionary budget for the year +/- 2k. Has been for the past 7 years when I started tracking. Spending that all at one establishment is insane to me.

Got my lowest rebate cheque ever last year. $83. Used it yesterday. My son had a bday party to attend at a place out in Newton. If you ever want to test your Costco patience, try the Newton location.

I never looked. My rebate check was $47x last year, but that also accounts for the cash rebate from the credit card. It's 2% rebate from Costco buys and whatever the fuck we pay with the CIBC Costco card.

Perhaps we need to see if there's a correlation between total yearly spend at Costco vs. time spent on the Weight loss accountability thread? |

I'm so cheap I don't even pay for the higher level membership. So I have no idea but my guess is $2k max per year. I tend to avoid the place like the plague.

My last trip was $550 without even thinking about it/getting very little in terms of groceries. I always look for deals on things I use all the time as I think it was Mark Cuban who said the easiest way to build wealth is to buy things you use all the time in bulk.
The protein I use from there was $12 off for $32, got 3 of those so that’s $100 right there
On sale vitamin D and C, probably $50 between those two
On sale ziplock freezer bags, $12
So almost $200 in non-food items in 1 trip. Every two weeks we do the majority of our food shopping there between 300-500
I’m still of the mind of buying 6 peppers for $12 and potentially not using all 6 is a better financial move than paying $2.50 a pop at a Safeway etc.

store next to me is never more than 3.99/lb for any colour peppers, and usually more like 2.99 or less. thank god for independent produce stores, and even luckier to live a 1 minute walk from it. sometimes i jay walk both ways if it's not busy and can be door to door in 3-4 minutes. safeway be charging like 5.99/lb for red peppers... dafuq.

Did they get rid of that thing where if you don’t get enough money back to cover a premier membership they will refund you the difference?

I got my first membership to Costco only like a few months ago... and I probably spent like $5,000+ already... but that's because I'm furnishing a brand new (to me) house... so like freezer, treadmill, brand new TV
Other than that I just buy some produce and meat and the Detroit Pizza and beefy meat pies... gluten free bagels for my gf
Btw whoever posted the lightly breaded chicken chunks? Those things are awesome! Bought a bag and ate some last night... they taste like straight up fried chicken but they are bite size so you end up eating like 15 of them lol

It's very easy to hit $400. Everything is $50 give or take. 10 items in and you are over $400 easily after tax.

I've never had my own membership haha. But then again, I've probably never exceeded $1000/year my entire life as a seldom customer of theirs.

Costco runs are so expensive now. It used to be a full cart is like 2xx. Now, if I load up full cart with meat and whatever crap I buy there, it's easily 500+. And that's under the fact that Costco BC doesn't have alcohol.
My usual cashback was anywhere between 400-600, but that's sharing with my parents. Except the year that my parents got their cabin and had to buy... well, everything. We almost maxed out the cashback that year at $11xx. And I got to keep all that cashback check to myself.
