Actually, COVID has been great for my hands...
Being in the restaurant industry I'm basically washing my hands 20 times an hour and I find it pointless to moisturize as it makes my hand greasy and slippery, only to be washed off again 5 minutes later. Couple that with eczema and so for many years my hands have been really really dry and cracked. To the point that in the Winter time I couldn't stretch out my fingers without cracking skin and bleeding. Even squeezing a lemon I had to be careful or it would sting like burning needles .... It was terrible.

Now that I wear nitrile gloves at work. I've started to slather on some heavy cream or lubricant like vaseline before slapping on the gloves. My hands are finally back to normal. It's been so long I almost forgot what that feels like...

lol reminds me of this scene:

Fun fact: gloves don't replace hand hygiene.

I've been wearing nitrile gloves for the better part of 25 years. Scrubbing car grime off your hands and under your nails, is fucking brutal.

That's what those thick rubber gloves are for. I used to get the Ansell orange ones from Superstore, but Costco now carries them. Only problem is, they only carry the medium size.

I dab a little Polysporin or Oronine on the fingers before I put the gloves on. Helps with the healing.

Eagle has landed. The nitrile gloves are in. Brighton Avenue location opened early. Flip, got you a box of large. Couldn’t reach you. Costco returns are great so not worried.

Cot Dam, I just checked the box. It’s food safe! Didn’t know that. I was really low on the food safe gloves I get from Russel Hendrix. They haven’t had gloves since way back. This is good. Really good.

I did get a few boxes, so if Flip doesn’t claim the extra, it’s yours.

I have a box or two of the 7mm from Harbor Freight. I think I even have a 9 mm from them. They are hella thick. Even they were not thick enough to be used as garden gloves. Damn roses. Oh, don’t ever buy the Gardena gloves from Costco. They tear so easily. For gardening, I use cut proof gloves. Can’t remember the rating off the top of my head. The dearskin gloves from Costco are decent.

Totally, the health inspector told me he actually advises to not wear gloves because then people have a false sense of security and wash their hands less.
Hard for me to break a 2 decade habit though I'm still washing my hands every 5min lol

I actually got an ointment from my family doctor because my cracks were getting really bad. I used it sparingly after work and it helped a little but can't replicate wearing lubed hands for 8 hours a day everyday lol...

A lot of Halloween candy on sale and costumes on clearance at my local Langford Costco. It’s very unusual to still have seasonal items this close to a holiday. Obviously people are going to do Halloween In different ways. I returned a bunch of candy because I am sure volume of trick or treaters will be low.

Also I enjoyed a sundae with chocolate sauce. Larger and way more sauce than a McDonalds sundae but no peanuts.

Before this pandemic I used to go two, three times a day to various casinos. I started to wear gloves when I was in the casino. After watching dirty old chinese men drip their shit all over their pants, shoes, the floor, and hands then leave the washrooms without washing their hands, I simply had to wear gloves. They touch cards and chips at the tables and press buttons on the slot machines - fuck. Hand sanitizers were not a thing back then. I wore them from the time I entered to the time I left. I washed my hands with the gloves on, lol. You can call me a dummy all you want. I've survived this far by being careful.

That's what she said...........

It's all about the thickness. Thinner the better. Too thin and accidents happen. No glove, no love. Great fatherly advice, lol.

Interesting............. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_condoms .......mentions Gabriele Falloppio. Now you know who named that part of the female anatomy.

If lining up your hands with gloves help with your skin, why don’t you put it on at night and out a sock over your hand so it still allows your hand to breathe. That should help with your eczema.

Tried that for a while but gave up, I found it difficult to sleep.
It was uncomfortable and warm and restrictive.

The blue nitrile one comes in single boxes. The white ones in the pharmacy are two packs. The last time I saw them in Richmond there was a sign that said one box per membership.

This comment reminded me of HS shop class, I don't know what it is, but I remember this really thick liquid soap/goop that could clean like years of grime off your hands, and your hands end up feeling baby soft, remember having to use it all the time to get everything off our hands, but it took so long to scrub/lather
