New Television Series / Seasons
Some good ones, while others plain suck ass.
I, for one, am glad that Walking Dead is finally going to die. The latest spin off looks promising. Fear the Walking Dead is still around.
Trying to get into this CBC's War of the World. Too early to judge, but speaking French.......... nut said. And what's with white subtitles against snow?
Hope Star Trek Discovery develops into something special.

What? CBC just started airing it.
I guess on other channels it aired early.
I'm so hoping Twilight Zone is worth watching. The first one wasn't bad, but the reviews are bad.
As for Star Trek Discovery, please tell me that the obnoxious red head get's blown into space.
And let's hope the final season of Walking Dead doesn't end up like that disappointment of the century "Lost." I guess writers hit a wall and things go off the rails.
I remember this series called Due South. When it first came out, it was hilarious. Canadian Mountie working with this Guido, Amurican Cop in NY? Anyway, it was good for a season or two, then it went full on retard - just like Lost.
I'm looking forward to Magnum PI. It took me a while to get over no Tom Selleck and Higgins being a chick, but I like it. A simple man's show. I like shows where you don't have to think too much, lol.

I wAnder what happened to that other zombie show...... the one where there's a cure for zombie ness. Dude's name is Murphy. It was so bad, I had to watch every episode to see how bad it'll get. It's one of those cult things.
Can't for the life of me remember what is was called I haven't seen it in quite some time. I guess it got canned.

Ah it's a euro show, that aired in the US beginning of the year or was it late last year, anyway watched it on YouTube TV when I gave it a trial subscription
Haven't seen walking dead or fear the walking dead in several years, I'm surprised they're still on!
Warrior is on season 2 now. Produced by Justin and written by Bruce Lee or at least the premise was. Great show in one of my favorite channels Cinemax which brought us glodies like Banshee.

It's time they brought back Miami Vice. I'll be happy as long as there's a white Ferrari and the bad guy dies in a shoot out in every episode. Oh and that 80's music is a must too... screw it, I'll just watch those Blurays I bought a few years back... still wrapped too

Cheech from Cheech and Chong? LOL Nash Bridges was a tame Miami Vice. It's just Don Johnson with a black partner... I think there was an episode where Tubbs made an appearance as a cop from NY... essentially the his character from Vice... lol

Started watching the fourth season of Fargo last night. Looks promising. Haven't been disappointed with this series yet. Though I'm not sure Chris Rock was the best guy to cast for his role. Too early to tell though.

The narrative of "white man bad" is starting to wear me out. I like the show and the concept but not every episode needs to be exposition on the history of injustice as perpetuated by white devils.
Punching upward is fine, but the strongest episode was the one set in Korea where EVERYONE got to be the bad guy. Black, white, Korean, American, Communist, men, women, etc.
Its definitely something I'd recommend checking out as its a cool concept, but I've come to expect it in every episode and its a relief when they get it out of the way so they can move on with the plot.
Switching gears, I've heard that the season finale or whatever of Blacklist was pure crap due to the pandemic. Some sort of action comic with narration from the actors. I'm thinking TV will be like this for a while. Bad, and trying to find ways to adapt to not being able to film as they would expect.
I've been watching a lot of stuff I normally wouldn't watch, or never watched while it was on TV. Gossip Girl, Psych, even 90 Day Fiance. Also, some of the foreign Netflix stuff like Dark.
TV is gonna be bad for a while, at least until we all get back from the pandemic.

Lovecraft Country
Raised by Wolves (my personal favorite new series on HBO)
The Boys
The Mandalorian (Guess this isn't quite new at this point)
Not new at this point, and is now cancelled, but I've heard people talking about The Expanse a lot, in terms of good Sci Fi. I watched a few episodes from the first season, and just couldn't get into it.
I guess CTV got their idea from this cable channel. CTV Drama, CTV Sci Fi, etc. Except, SyFy has a few original series content and a few B Movies. Sharknado, lol. Puts new meaning to television made, Sci Fi "disaster" film.
Okay, I'll admit it. I watch the movies - for shits and giggles.

Ok, gonna make an effort to watch this Lovecraft Country. If El Bastardo and others on here say it's good, it must be. I don't trust reviews on-line.
Don't, it's a good show, well thought out, and well directed. It's a little all over the place with the lore though, I had to resort to those post spoiler Youtube videos each episode to understand everything going on there.
Don't follow IMDB when it comes to any films or shows that are black centric. There's a troll following online within the 4Chan/Stromfront communities that literally will vote bomb any such film on television series that carries any type of "black" agenda. It's an odd phenomenon that has occurred over the last number of years here, and it's quite disappointing.
When I had heard about the show, even before its release on HBO, the show was already sitting @ 5.3ish on IMDB, the same thing happened with Watchmen as well, prior to its release to the public. The votes eventually corrected themselves over time to a degree, but the initial damage is already done.
Edit: to add context to what I'm referring to above
Yeah, for me the "white man bad" stuff is an eye-roll but nothing more. I respect that they approach the era in which its set (1950s) without generous nostalgia. It just gets off track with the plot sometimes.
And its weird that those types of right-wing online circlejerkers didn't go after the Magnum PI reboot that MG1 mentioned. Recasting Thomas Magnum with a Hispanic actor? Gasp! *clutches pearls*

Just finished watching episode one of this season of Discovery. Wow. Lots to look forward to. Please no Tilley. Tell me she ended up in the digestive tract of some weird ass space creature.

Oh, the music in the opening to season three of Star Trek Discovery was that of Mozart. Instantly recognizable as Mozart's style. After listening it again, its one of his symphonies. All those music history classes at UBC............. spending countless hours in Sedgewick Library's listening posts pays off.
The only thing I can't figure out is which of the many recordings it is. Sounds digital, in any case.
BTW, is Sedgewick Library and the listening room still around? After 50 years since I've been there, I imagine it's gone now. What a beautiful building it was. Won an award for its design.
