Looking for reccomendations; Mustang replacement

So I sold my Mustang a few months ago, I live in northern BC and we have winter from october-march, so it was annoying having a 50k car sit in the garage for 6 months of the year.

I'm looking to replace it with something FUN that I can drive year round. This is in addition to my F150, so it will get driven about 30% of the time. I had a 2016 WRX in 2016, but I want something with more power, and a bit more luxurious...

Non negotiables:
AWD
At least 300hp, preferably 350+
Available to purchase new
Could be a two or four door, but NO SUV's.
Under 80k
Something that can handle rough roads and LOTS of snow.

Preferences:
Manual transmission, paddles at the minimum.
Two door (not a requirement, just a preference)
Turbo's

+1 for Golf R.

Ticks so many boxes for a daily let alone a second car.

The first question I'd ask is -- what kind of (vehicle) service & maintenance support is there at the place where you live? I wouldn't want to own a vehicle where there is no readily available local support for it.

For example, if there are no Mercedes dealerships (or Mercedes indie shops) in the vicinity, the GLA45 suggestion would become a poor one just because of that lack of local support.

I'm tossing around a golf R, but would hate to lose warranty. If it had APR stage 2 power stock, i'd probably buy one.

Dealership wise there's no BMW, audi, mercedes, but there is everything domestic and a vw store. I do have a trusted mechanic in town that can work on ze german stuff.

Golf R is my knee-jerk response as others have already recommended. Depending on your proximity to your dealer and how rough of a road you're referring to, a C43 / M340i / Audi S4/S5 fits the bill as well.

From the Japanese side maybe consider the upcoming Acura TLX Type-S? A WRX STI fits the bill too, but you already had a WRX at one point so I'm guessing you want to try something else.

A4 Allroad or the new A6 Allroad coming. They've got the suspension and clearance to handle rougher roads, and the power you need.

Doesn't Dodge make an AWD Charger & Challenger? That way you can at least get local warranty support.

I think it'll be difficult to meet that criteria though. "new" and "able to handle rough roads" don't really go together since new cars tend to have big wheels/thin tires and low ground clearance and the warranty department will probably get whiny if your car shows any signs of abuse.

I think if youre including ability to handle rough roads wrx sti is your only option. Where in northern bc are you? If you are planning on buying new I wouldn't want a luxury brand without any dealer precense at all.

Can't get AWD with a V8 charger, and the V6 ones are gutless. Otherwise that would be high on my list! What I really want, i suppose, is an AWD Mustang.

It is challenging to meet that criteria, my first thought was an RS3 or S4, but I genuinely don't think the wheels would last a winter without being destroyed... I'd hate to smash the bumper on chunks of ice and snow all winter too.

I dunno. Maybe I should just buy another WRX/STi.

I like the all road idea, but man are they ugly to me. I like hatchbacks and sedans/coupes, but wagons or suv's are not my cup of tea.

99% chance I just lease whatever I end up with, and a local mechanic can do the maintenance. Would just suck it if breaks down 300km from the nearest audi or bmw dealer... However I think roadside assistance would pay to tow it to the nearest dealer, i'd just have to pick it up. Not ideal, but ya.

I might have to go back to it, I loved my WRX but it just doesn't have enough power. The STi makes another 30 ish hp, but the WRX makes its power lower in the rev range so they feel very similar. Wonder if I could sneak a tune past warranty...

I'd downsize the wheels to a 17" or 18" if possible, and put the thickest sidewalls on it. I mean if you don't like wagons, hard to find lifted sedans or coupes lol. I think you're in PG, and if I remember, the roads get beat to shit over the winter there for some reason.

Does it need to be brand new? I’d consider all the awd vehicles. Evo X, STi, focus RS, golf R / Audi s3, gla45 etc. All have their pro’s and cons. I don’t know much about them, but I’m sure a Quattro a4 / 4 series x drive / c class 4matic would be faster than any “hot hatch” that we’d buy.

I can't think of anything new that can handle that kind of abuse that's not a truck.

Almost sounds like you are describing one of the new off road truck trims from Ford Ranger/Chevy Colorado/GMC Canyon, but they don't have the power.

And then it would be the psuedo performance SUVs like the X3 M40i/GLC 43/SQ5/Macan S, but you said no SUV and those don't come in Manuel. And servicing would be a pain. You don't really want to go indie for a brand new car.

How hard do you want to drive it? Depending on why you want to go new, if you don't mind going used there's a lot more options for less money and then if it gets banged up or you get really sendy and smash it to bits it doesn't really matter.
