Any licensed septic peep here or can refer? I have a last minute job that came up and my usual go-to guy is fully loaded.

The license is ready. Just need a licensed firm to carry out the installation according to specs.

So way back last Sept I posted about an issue with my Navien and Doubl3_H DM and said the issue was undersized natural gas line and a cheap regulator. I had a technician from Pioneer Plumbing come to look at it and he said that wasn't the issue and said it was how the exhaust venting was setup so we left it at that. My neighbor had the same issue (same house design) and decided to reroute his exhaust venting to go outside immediately rather than through the walls of the house which helped but didn't solve the problem.

By chance we used a different plumber for some other work and asked him to take a look at it for us and being a relatively new guy he did the work to get some experience. Called Navien, worked through all the diagnostics and eventually decided that replacing the regulator might do the trick and that finally did it. The sound is gone! (It had gotten quite bad - could hear it throughout the house)

Thanks to Doubl3_H for his suggestion - it was the correct answer but took a while to find someone who was willing to trace it down to that.

Edit: The plumber who ended up fixing it was Paul from Impero Plumbing - good solid guy who's still learning so he's pretty attentive to stuff. https://imperoplumbing.com

The squealing/whining sound only occurs when hot water is demanded and not when the heat is running. It didn't start this way (10 months ago) and has gotten progressively worse over time - I can hear it upstairs and even outside now. It goes away after the water has been running for 30-60 seconds. I'm still under new home warranty and the builder is a good guy, it's just his plumber is a shithead and takes forever to resolve issues so I'd rather just pay someone reliable to come diagnose and fix it.

It's just what came with the house - it's a new build and seems to be the system of choice nowadays. I generally like it - other than the issue I'm reporting it's been trouble free as was the last one I had at my last house.

Nice bladder. Mine is showing a little rust and leaking from somewhere. Talking 'bout the plumbing, not me.

Solly, had to. Leaking bladder. Cutting back on coffee does it for me.

Planning on doing some washroom renos. Does anyone know a demolisher and a tiler?

Looking for HVAC company to replace radiant floor heating furnace. Most likely a combo system that takes care of both radiant floor heating and hot water tank. The last company I contacted quoted me $36, 000.00. 7 years no worries contract. All valves replaced. They come by every year for maintenance and all parts and labour is covered for up to 7 years. Sounds a little steep, but no idea................

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

FYI - depending who you go with "7 years no worries contract. All valves replaced. They come by every year for maintenance and all parts and labour is covered for up to 7 years." these means nothing.
If you go check, you'll see a lot of people just close shop and open up a new company so all warranty means nothing. Don't get caught in that. If they don't pick up your call or emials... they'll never come... we were caught in that trap once.

Do make sure there is an office etc.

I had my EV charger installed by another company. When I encountered issues, they couldn't figure out what was causing the problem. I was left on my own. Company never returned my calls after a while. I eventually figured it out on my own. I called around and got a few quotes. All of them either didn't know what they were doing or quoted me way too much. Plus the wait times were unacceptable.

I then called AJ's electrical and they solved the issue and did a fantastic job. They did it the next day and at a lower price. Seniors discount, ftmfw!

I'm trying to set up my Logi x Playseat Challenge X with a Fanatec CSL DD wheel base and the plate the seat comes with for mounting wheelbases don't work out of the box. I managed to sort of get it set up right, but it would be a huge improvement if I can get a new metal plate with some holes drilled in different spots. Can anyone here help fab a metal plate? I haven't drawn anything up yet but I can come up with the dimensions.

It's a little different, but this is the sort of plate I need made: https://www.reddit.com/r/Fanatec/com...red/?rdt=60324

I can help you draw it in CAD if needed, and you can order online from a mail order place such as Send Cut Send?

Thanks in advance. I'm going to try one more thing and if it doesn't work I'll probably take you up on your offer.

Anyone got a recommendation for a mechanic in Burnaby? I normally use Alpha1 but their hours (open at 10) are kinda inconvenient for me and they're booked out for 2 weeks anyways. It's just for regular scheduled maintenance. I'd otherwise end up at Destination Honda.

BIC_BAWS 03-21-2024 06:49 PM

ER Auto in the South Vancouver area is great. Otherwise if you want to stick in Burnaby specifically, Brandon @ Destination Honda is an excellent service advisor. I don't trust anyone else with my Type R. My car either goes in for service with Brandon or I do it myself.

headhunt3r 03-22-2024 10:14 AM

No matter how much you trust Brandon, he's not the one doing the actual work since he's not the mechanic touching your car. What am I missing?

SSM_DC5 03-22-2024 02:09 PM

Perhaps he has control over who touches it and only chooses those worthy?
