Revscene Network Not sure if there is a thread similar to this already.. but I thought it might be a good idea to have a thread dedicated to offering services within revscene community. I know how hard it is to find quality/trustworthy tradesmen. I figure the majority of the people on revscene have been here a while. So there is some sort of credibility & trust within this community. Thread idea/Guideline - Anyone who has a special service/trade/job can post here (Plumbers, electricians, insurance brokers, accountants, painters, planners, designers, etc) - Ideally, it'll be offered at a reasonable price (revscene discount) - Must be a long standing member (min 2years, 100+post) - Member referrals allowed (If you know a really good contractor, that you are willing to put your name on it. Feel free to post it) Some trades/services I personally am looking around for. - Plumber - architect - Cabinet maker What I can offer - Electrician, any work ranging from resi to commercial What I recommend - Plumber, Impetus plumbing: they do amazing work but more on the expensive side. Depending on your budget. Id recommend them. https://www.impetusplumbingheating.com/ Hopefully this thread will prevent future posts like these. "i had mine done by BEJI home renovations. Jaime Sanchez. and it was a nightmare. almost everything about the reno had issues. they are tons of shitty contractors" "Guy on craigslist named Yusef, don't use. Terrible finishing work." |
Should make for some interesting conversations while your plumbing is being done .... judging by the kind of posts here. Hey Manic! Welfare needs his toilet unclogged ... can you do it? On a serious note, this is a good idea OP. |
Will be useful, but probably goes against RS sponsorship contracts I'll be needing some services real soon related to home reno's |

And most of these are going to be recommendations and referrals. I think if you are to disclose your own job/skills then people should directly PM you and when the job is done they can report back to give you an endorsement. Sent from my GM1917 using Tapatalk |
Man, back in the day, it was a network of cell phone sellers/buyers like !Aznboi128. Time flies, and we've grown up. Brings a tear to my eyes. :okay: |
I think it's a great idea for home/car/gadget owners who often have some weird stuff here and there to do, sometimes on a DIY level. And often just needs some quick help from a pro to get the job done right. Mark this thread. Not really into any particular trade... but quite handy with computers/electronics... and one of the things I used to do for quick bucks were personal shoppers with high-end brands for $$$ clients. So, if you ever need help sourcing something special that always seemed to be "unavailable" or "waitlist", let me know. I have a lot of strings to pull from my dark days. |
For simple home Reno/improvement stuff I have enough time on my hands that I could potentially make videos to share on how to do some basic DIY stuff that may not be covered on YouTube etc. From the sounds of it though I should really be starting my own Reno company to serve RS :fullofwin: |
Tried to start something similar many moons ago https://www.revscene.net/forums/6541...scene-net.html |

Great idea, as a home owner now for a couple years I dread the day I'll need to call in someone for an emergency lol. Would love to have a plumber contact on hand for starters. |
