That’s all fine and dandy but I’ve sat in a Camaro and it doesn’t matter how it drives, that’s a shitty cockpit and it has terrible outward viewing angles / tiny greenhouse.
The trunk on the Camaro is a joke as well.
Great thing about the Mustang is that it doesn't require a behaviour change - drives and functions like a normal car with usable rear seats (on Convertible) and a fairly big trunk.

I don't fit in the back of the Mustang, if we are going around the block to McD sure, but any farther I'm driving myself.
The FRS had a Canadian MSRP of $25990 in 2013. Adjusted for inflation, that is roughly $29.7k in today's money. FWIW, the current MY2021 86 starts with an MSRP of $30150.
So C&D expects the GR86 to start at USD $31k, and as translated today, that works out to ~Cdn $37.3k. But there is no telling of how close the Canadian MSRP is gonna be in relation to the US MSRP.
With a noticeably bigger and more powerful engine than before, what starting price would you say is reasonable? IMO, it is unrealistic to expect anything less than $34k+, if not something in the +/- $35k range.
If it's $37.3k that's a 26% jump in price, which seems like quite a lot. Especially when the original pitch was that it's a small, light, cheap toy that drove the cost of the 370Z down to try to stay competitive.
Running the numbers backwards, I don't think the original would've sold as well in 2013 for $32,700.

it’s not a numbers car but still slower than a miata
I think the price is fair given all the supply chain problems that will surely persist for another year..there’s also no shortage of 1st gen for like 95% the fun and performance for a fraction of the cost and based on the same platform/bones
(*Pricing does not include the non-negotiable $1,650 destination fee)
Sport Tech in WRB sounds about nice right now

according to the numbers Traum came up with, that effectively makes it cheaper (just) than the 1st gen at launch. That's pretty sweet given how everything else has shot up in cost the last few years.
