Sucks that there's no Eyesight for M/T. Correct me if I'm wrong but that's adaptive cruise control right? Golf R has it for manual, but granted 20K more.

It's that but a bit more than that. Essentially driving nanny devices. I have the Toyota version of it on my car and I just turn that shit off.

I am honestly surprised by the just announced Canadian MSRP. It is literally a solid $4 - $5k cheaper than I was expecting.

Good job, Subie~! Nicely done!

With enthusiasts in mind both manual and automatic transmissions are available for each trim level: BRZ and Sport-tech. In entry-level BRZ trim, pricing starts at $29,495 with a six-speed manual transmission and $31,895 for automatic transmission models including Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology.

At a starting price of $32,495, the 2022 BRZ Sport-tech receives 18-inch matte gray-finish alloy wheels with Michelin® Pilot® Sport 4 tires for even more bite and control. Inside, heated leather and Ultrasuede® front seats are accompanied by a premium 8-speaker audio system with amplifier. A three-year free trial of SUBARU STARLINK™, Side/Rear Vehicle Detection and steering responsive LED headlights round out the Sport-tech trim. Automatic transmission Sport-tech model pricing starts at $34,895.
That's pretty damn good.

Maybe it is just me -- but nothing from the Sport tech trim level appeals to me at all.

Curb weight is 2815lbs

The E36 M3 is 3200lbs, with just 240hp. Guess I won't be messing with FRZ86s anymore

I do like how that package allows some of the tech stuff to be optional though. For those of us that don't want any of it, we get to save $3k compared to what we'd have to pay if they had made those all standard features.

THe pricing is VERY aggressive on this car.

In late 1999, I paid $23,850 + freight and taxes for a 2000 Toyota Celica GT... 140hp 1ZZ 5psd manual w/AC... no sunroof.... AND... I think the spoiler was an option? Yes I think it was about $500.00

According to the inflation calculator, $23,850 in 1999 money is $35,000 in 2021 money... so it's a whopping $5,000+ cheaper than the base Celica was 20 years ago AND you're getting a car with nearly 100 more hp and a slew more tech in it + it's rear wheel drive.

I'm impressed.

I was expecting the Canadian MSRP to be higher. With 228 HP for under $30k, this is a real winner. I hope they sell a lot more than the old one.

Pricing for the BRZ is similar to when the first gen first came out, pleasantly surprised it's this competitive

^I think most members here are waiting for the 16-20 yr N drivers to buy @ msrp.. and get them for 8k-10k off msrp when they reach the magic 100kkm odo...

But tbh, due to the inflated used car market these days, buying new might actually be a better idea

I would never recommend anyone to buy a first model year car, but if everyone behave like that, nobody will ever buy any cars LOL~

I think that's exactly it. I'm of the same camp of thought to not buy first model year (FMY) but given how things are going for the used car market, it's a bit of the wild wild west and nothing of tremendous value.

I mean, if we look at 1st generation FR-S/BRZ, they still command a bit of a premium given their age, physical state, and mileage. I'd still like a fun, reliable RWD car in manual, but I'm not sure I want to spend that money towards a 1st gen.

So back to my question - Who here is going to buy this?
