WFH?! office chair needed dual purpose -work/pleasure ok so what are you guys using now at your computers for both work and gaming? i tried out this insanely uncomfortable gaming chair and hated it ..hated it...what's a good chair that provides good elbow/arm support, some sort of head support, lumbar would be good....? avoid these damn things: (my neck and back gonna hurt like hell for weeks) https://i.imgur.com/WYxhMSf.jpg |
Steelcase Leap or Think, Herman Miller Embody or Aeron - there's no such thing as a "gaming" chair. Keep an eye out on RFD for group buys, they happen from time to time. |
Herman Miller should have a 15% off retail sale right now for a limited time. |

I personally have an Embody but won't hesitate to recommend a Steelcase Gesture (my second choice) as you can get one with a headrest. The Gesture has the best adjustable arms in the business, bar none. |
I'm using the leap v2 right now and the only thing I would say is the base could use more foam, other wise its perfect. I tried the Aeron and felt that my lower thigh area had a lot of pressure when sitting on it. |
For not much more, I'd get the Gesture over the Leap. |
From what I can tell gaming chairs are just low end chairs with fancy colours and inflated prices. I've used the Steelcase Leap at work for the last 10 years and it's very comfortable. It still looks brand new too which is pretty nice. |
We were going to buy a steel case chair but an office within my wife’s building was closing and they were selling everything We ended up getting what looks like a steel case knock off but it’s made by posturpedic Not sure what it costs initially but we paid $120 and it’s been fantastic compared to the typical executive office chair we had before from Costco |
went with something more basic.. IKEA MARKUS ..surprisingly decent comfort and ergonomics for such a low price. https://i.imgur.com/O1CrEvf.jpg |
Let's see how long you last on that. :fuckthatshit: |

I have a Teknion Contessa and Humanscale Freedom, them over HM because of headrests. I used to spend a good share of my waking hours on my office chair. So, it's one of the first things I splurge on since I started making my own money. Both of them are 10+ years old now. Went with me West to East and back. Other than coasters that had to be replaced, 0 problems. |
It's ok. We'll have to see how many chairs Acura604 goes through like he does with his wheels and Acuras. |
I bought the ErgoChair 2 beginning of Covid. Paid $400 tax in shipped to my door. Don't think I'll ever go back buying cheap $100 Staple chairs. It's fine if you use it for "short" periods of time; however, if your like me sitting 8-10 hours a day working at the desk daily, ideally it's better to get something good for your posture and back. Once your body is fucked, no matter how much money in the world you saved buy using a cheap chair will fix your health. |
Any thoughts on the MyoChair with headrest/footrest? https://www.autonomous.ai/office-cha...ption1573=1945 For BF it was $249.99 and you can apply a 10% off code and play the Clappy Rex game for additional $ off. Considering getting this for boxing day if the price will be similar. |
I was looking into the MyoChair recently and some reviews said that the seat cushion was super uncomfortable. But I don't know if that is just a "larger person" issue. I wish my boss would spring for some better chairs in our office. I am sitting in a 10-year old Staples chair and it isn't doing my any favours. He is literally the cheapest person when it comes to office supplies - good luck to getting a better chair unless I buy it myself :( |
assuming best/only place to buy the ergochair 2 from autonomous website? as of right now it's $432cdn total tax/shipping in on their website (w/ 10% off coupon code). also, how does it compare to the steelcase leap or herman miller comparables? or the 'new' Autonomous Kinn Chair for that matter? |
if you're going to be spending $400+ on chair, might as well spend a little bit more and get these "open box" Steelcase Leap v2. Maybe a bunch of you guys can get together and get it for cheaper. https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...237960653.html Note that these come with 12 month warranty, instead of 12 years. To get 12 year warranty on the leap, it would cost just under $900 + tax ($1308 retail) from an authorized Steelcase dealer. 12 month warranty would be same that you will be getting at staples/autonomous anyways, and spare parts are available to be purchased on the steelcase |
^ I've had one of those for work for about 9 years now and I love it. I want to get one for home but I haven't been able to find a way to get it up to Kelowna. |

Found this over at RFD: https://forums.redflagdeals.com/herm...dates-2389969/ If I don't go ahead with the Embody, I'm interested in the Leap V2. |

I'm still reading through the thread, but people seem to be receiving their orders. Have till late Jan to decide, but the price seems really good for a piece you can keep long term. Only drawback is no color choice, but for the price I can look past that. |
What are your thoughts on a herman milller chair? I heard they are pricy but very ergonomic and good for your spine. I'm going into a desk job soon so it might be worth one. |
I have the Embody at work. It's super comfortable but not in the traditionally plushy lazy boy no support way. Its made of a mesh/rubber which feels kinda bouncy and light. The chair itself is super heavy and sturdy tho. I enjoy the lumbar support that it has especially post accident |
