G&G did a "hyper-mile" esque build/trip in one a few months ago. Got interested again.

I used to work next to an engineering company in the early 00's. A couple of guys got them for company cars. They were pretty cool rolling billboards then too - very futuristic looking.

We really really like it, shockingly. It's an engaging drive with the 5 speed. With the light weight and short wheelbase, it actually handles pretty well and is somehow decently roomy inside - no idea how honestly

Did a 65km loop this weekend to Tsawwassen Mills and averaged 3.2L/100km and have ordered a set of the special OEM Bridgestone RE92s from Costco so that should get even better mileage once they're on.

Yes! It was this exact video that inspired me to dust the thing off and finally drive it since I picked it up a few years back. It's a local car with only 82k on it.

Hmm

I feel better after being sad that my E90d uses 40% more fuel than an Insight. [emoji2957]

It makes road trips easy on the wallet with passing power exceeding the E90M brother. [emoji85]

Lol no, sold it, it was a little too underpowered for my liking, especially for Calgary where it's basically highways everywhere

Most BMW owners want to move up to a Porsche. You’d be going down to something inferior. [emoji2960]

e46m3's and c2 996's are pretty close comps these days

same ish money (and appreciating)
same ish availability
same ish Achilles heels
same ish performance

reality is that the BMW interior is in fact quite superior to the early 996.

biggest difference to me is you can prob find a replacement s54 for 5-6 grand. If you pop an M96 you're looking at 20k

I would trade this car for the right e46 m3. I've never owned one, and I can't see adding one to the garage without letting something go.

prob from blasting a/c while idling?

otherwise a motor doesn't gaf if it's 40C out, not like it was sub zero and it has to deal with thicker oil/denser air

I really dislike dual zone climate control as displayed by the above pictures. My E46 330/M3 didn't have it but my E36 M3 has it. I just want it to sync up LOL

Mission was PACKED

Between the drifters and drag racers and all the spectators i bet there was more than 2000 people there.

Waited an hour just to get in

So i had to give the big crowd a little euro smoke show

We have this Fujiwara Tofu shop replica here in HK (they don't actually sell tofu). Owners were nice enough to move their cars and let me park and take some shots with my daughter.
