I saw your car at the Superstore meet BIC_BAWS... but I have no idea what you looked like. Nobody looked handsome enough to be you.

Just one of the Asians amongst the sea of Asians. And then there was 320icar lol

That was a solid meet and a great opportunity to catch up with a bunch of people. I left at around 2 but didn't really get a moment to myself except to grab some food. Ironically as an extrovert, that whole thing was exhausting. Probably the sun tho.

Find me and say hi next time. Or bring the Mustang and I'll find you. Or were you the Asian dude in the 00s mustang???

Perhaps we did meet and we just didn't know it (just like Kunoman). I was chatting with 320icar around 11?

^ God damn!

Haha, living my dream.

Its odd that now I am older, I could be in the bracket of owning a classic Ferrari (who am I kidding, I mean an older Ferrari). I just dont have the balls to buy one, because being able to buy it is one thing, but also have the $$ to keep it on the road is something else hahaha.

Can I ask how much $$ does it chews up in general upkeep (not including things that do break) over the course of your ownership?

Just some rough figures so I can convince myself that I am no where near financially ready....

Every time I seriously consider buying a childhood dream car, I jump on the forums and look at average maintenance costs, then go buy something with a damn warranty. Lol.

Same, as much as everyone on YouTube makes it look so easy to DIY I just don't have the balls to do it. Considering I can take it apart but I'm screwed if parts don't fit or I can't put it back together. And I can't over night parts from USA anymore

Spend 60k on a new car and lose the money on depreciation or spend 60k on a classic and lose the money on maintenance. Either way we're fucked lol.

Most of my car purchases cost as much as the tax people pay on a new car.

I’m okay with that.

I know someone (or likely their wife) will always chime in with a “I don’t want to get stranded by some old car” but I’ll be honest and say twice in my life I’ve had to tow a “regular driver” car because it broke down… and 1 of those was my own fault because I modified the shit out of it. That’s over like 25 years of driving too.

(that said I’ve only owned 1 European car hahaha)

There's a few shops locally that'll do a good job. It should run you just over $2000 after taxes on labour alone.

Through instagram, it was a RS x TSS meet so a bit different as it wasn't official.

Pics are out there, more will be posted in the up coming days on Instagram.

I've noticed that the majority of the vehicles I've seen broken down on the side of the Coq over the years were <5 years old.

picked up this high mile Mk6 on the cheap for winter usage. I really like these cars. I wanted a 4 door, but this one came up.

Clean and new-ish. I'll keep an eye out now for a winter wheel setup.

I am nearing 9 years of ownership, purchased the car in 2012 or 2013. Can't remember. It was due for its major engine out service in 2015 (remember its time, not miles that guide the service interval for these cars). During that repair, I had them sort out anything and everything that was due while the engine was out. That included clutch, and flywheel. That was an expensive one. Total bill was 5 digits. The first digit was not a 1. Eek.

After that was done, I do yearly maintenance plus small repairs myself. Oil filter + washers are $70ish/year, plus oil from Canadian Tire (Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5w40) which I buy on sale. A few small repairs here and there over the past 5 years have totaled only a few hundred bucks.

Small repairs are only possible because of the knowledge base and comradery on Ferrarichat being nothing short of amazing. There are truly great guys there who are willing to take time out of their schedule to share the knowledge and lend a hand. It's crazy really. I texted back and forth with one guy in Australia to figure out an electrical situation once. Need a part? No problem. Contact Ricambi and the owner will sort you out and make sure you have the exact right stuff you need. Once you really start tinkering with the car though you realize its a very simple thing to work on. It's like a big go cart really.

Car is going in for its major service this year after completing 5 years and only ~3200ish kilometers. I think I will be sending it to Eurolux in Langley. Hoping its a 4 digit bill but I can see it being higher as there are a few minor issues to address.

With everything going EV etc I will do my best to add some more miles to this thing. Haven't driven it much over last 5 years as result of life being crazy.
