I mean, it comes like that from the factory and likely (possibly????) violates a bunch of different laws / rules / stipulations etc.

It's because it's still on the old IS 3rd gen platform (2014+) and not on the new TNGA platform that all the other new Lexus products are on. So it doesn't have all the nice bells and whistles of the new G20/A4/C-class interiors with ambient lighting and the like. The build quality is at least better than the C-class IMO, having sat in a C43 and then an IS350 F-sport recently...

2022 Lexus IS500 Pre-Order Brochure (USA)

The brochure is out! This is the USA version so the Canadian one will most likely be different in packages and options.

Still no word of pricing

I hope Lexus doesn't out price this like the GSF or RCF into unobtanium when new

That's my biggest fear, that Lexus overprices this car... let's hope not.

More news! Got the Canadian ordering guide from one of the sales guys I have been in contact with! Basically the Canadian version is fully loaded, no options.

No price yet. Word on the forums from insiders is that it’ll be “aggressive” but nothing concrete. Presumably will be cheaper than a used GS-F (because they’re going up in price) or LC.

Cuz LC Gsf is still new enough that you can't really pick one up now and not lose money if you sell it a few years down the road. I see an easy $20000 to $30000 in depreciation in the next few years.

Still kinda cool. Not overly fond of the new IS styling but whatevs, I'll get over it. Launch Edition is really nice looking but if the normal one is in the mid-$70k range (my guess) then the LE will surely be in the high $80k range. Now it's not a decently priced V8 sedan anymore.

As excited as I am for all things Lexus/Toyota coming in the next few years, this one is a tad lack-luster for me. Gimme a pre-owned GSF any day.

Ditto. Not a fan of sunroofs and manufacturers need to create an option for customers to opt out of it. I think (and I could be wrong) the current line up of Lexus, only the base model IS has no sunroof.

In the leaked US brochure, sunroof is optional on the is500. Just like it was for the US spec ISF back then. While CDN spec ISF all had sunroofs.

I think you guys are disappointed - sunroof is standard according to the sales guy. Only the base IS in Canada has no sunroof.

Also, I just realized Ultrasonic Blue is missing from the order guide. WTF?

Sunroof?
No Ultrasonic Blue? What are they offering instead? Poo brown?
Ultrasonic Blue is like the quintessential colour for the IS!

Hoping the price starts at mid-high 60's. Debating between this or the next gen WRX Sti as either of them will IMO be the last of the combustion engines before hybrid/EV.
V8 + auto
Boxer + manual

Tough choice!

Looks like some journalists have started getting review cars. Supposedly embargo on driving details, pricing and stuff until September 10... that's a long embargo!

In other news, the damn GTI has thrown a CEL at me - it's as if it knows it's going to get replaced.
