LG to stop making phones completely Dead forum but thought it would bring back a bit of nostalgia back in the hey-day of this subforum. https://www.phonearena.com/news/lg-p...osure_id130914 I remember the LG Chocolate phones being so slick. I had both the slider and then later the flip: https://images.theinformr.com/i/prod...500-full-1.jpg https://o.aolcdn.com/images/dar/5845...g4NjAwLTEuanBn |
2 of my family members had the LG-Google Nexus 5X, and the experience was really subpar. One phone's video output stopped working 3 months into buying / owning the phone, and we got Google to send us a replacement. The other phone got hit with the infinite reboot cycle 2 months after the warranty ended, and fortunately Google gave us a refurb unit despite it being out of warranty. The batteries on both replacement phones also didn't last very long. So I can't say it was all that good of an experience we'd had with LG phones. |

I'm using an LG G7 one right now because it has a headphone jack and runs stock android. This sucks. Maybe I will switch to Asus because they brought back the headphone jack back to there flagship phone. |
I had plenty of older LG phones but they've always been meh. Dying off is kinda sad as they were on the cutting edge on some of the newer development. I recall they were one of the first to implement a ultra wide camera. |
Gonna miss the DACs used in their phones. They were some of the best for audio. |
The only LG phone I used was my wife's Chocolate bar. I was already on WinMo by then. Great design, but I think their Android phones weren't great. I switched to Sony Xperia several years ago, and have very few complaints (more seem to pop up with newer models). They are better if you buy last year's upper model rather than a current lower model, but you sacrifice screen quality that way. Currently using the Xperia 10ii |
