^ I so agree ... I hate it that the government gets 2 or 3 or 4 taxes every time a car changes ownership!

Makes no sense.

It’s like my old yellow M3. Had title changes 17 times...

I guarantee taxes were paid at least 13 times.

And where does all that PST Revenue go????

Yet there are some of the best customers that stick to you regardless no matter how shitty their car got and will follow you from dealer to dealer.

I finally pulled the trigger on a used car in late June. Picked up a used Lexus ux250h. Was going to see a used one in Land Rover Richmond, and decided to stop by the Lexus dealer first since it was across the street. Saw one I liked, they asked what it'd take for me to not go across the street, I gave them a number that's a couple thousand off asking with no doc fees, and they called my bluff. They put an offer sheet for what I asked, no counters. I signed and placed the deposit down that day, and picked the car up a week later.

I guess there's still money to be knocked off for used cars, but have to wait for the right situation. Thank you Land Rover for having one in stock! That probably gave me the leverage I needed to get Lexus to accept my offer.

^ Always margin for negotiation for 95% of used cars. There are some no name used dealers who insist on listed price and that they can't move ... I said, 'See ya'. Wait a few weeks at most and another one will pop up to your liking.

not sure locally but lexus america just absolutely crushed their best quarter EVER
there's probably not much regret that you walked
dont take it personally, congrats on the purchase and giving the business to the dealer that was most competitive for your dollar, sounds like they earned it

guess it depends how picky you are haha, for the right combo/trim it's easily 6 months+ ordeal

I clarified my post because I think it was unclear before. I took a look again for inventory of the same car a month later and the same dealer that had 7-8 used cars in their inventory now has just one. I think I lucked out a bit. The gas prices probably made the car more attractive as well.

The UX250h is a nice car and great on gas, so they are being swept up in droves. You lucked out given the circumstances. The same has happened here in the Greater Toronto Area. Inventory for the UX250h is diminishing at a rapid pace.
