Aftermarket TPMS sensors?

Looking to get a set of winters ready for a new car, and it's been around a decade since I last shopped for TPMS sensors. It seems like there's a lot more aftermarket options out there - even Crappy Tire has a few brands carrying a dozen or so options. I even found some for cheap on Aliexpress. Rockauto had some for ~$40 each for my car.

Does anyone have any experience with Aliexpress sensors? Most of the ones here are probably made in China anyways... my old car started with sensors on Winters, but then they slowly died and I just lived with the light. Is that what a lot of you are doing?

The problem with not getting TPMS sensors for some cars is you can't disable VSA. It's stupid.

I haven't used aftermarket sensors but I got OEM sensors for my summers (using OEM for winters) but they have to be programmed each time I flip my tires.

just be careful with Lexus, system can't remember 2 sets of tpms on my dad's rx so having winters with tpms was useless unless he goes into the dealer to reprogram at every change

I don't know the brand, but I have aftermarket TPMS sensors on my winters for my Leaf.

No mess no headaches. I slap on the wheels and after a couple of minutes of driving, all is good.
The person who installed the tires programmed the TPMS sensors to mimic the factory ones. Even when I go to rotate the tires, it take a few minutes and then the readings are correct front to back, left to right.

Stupid that all new cars don't just use wheel speed sensors, to determine if a tire is low.

Not having to worry about replacing or programming sensors is nice but something about being able to have a readout of tire pressures on your dash is really handy.
Often looking at it when I'm airing up and down before and after the going on trails
Another issue with indirect tpms is that most people(including tire shops) dont realize you have to recalibrated the system
anytime you adjust tire pressures, rotated tires, or mount on another set of wheels on to vehicle.

I purchased a set of OEM winter rims and tires for wife’s G37 which had oem Nissan TPMS in them. If you don’t have the specific computer to reprogram the computer you have to do this stupid sequence of shorting pins under the dash

I tried to short them twice and go through this headache and both times didn’t work. So now the winter rims just have the CEL on, annoying but not the end of the world

I'm not a fan of this approach - I like the precision offered by actual sensors (and being able to see exact numbers as well). Sure, it's cheaper but you can get more false readings (and don't get accurate numbers).
