Has anyone actually claimed Tires' MILEAGE Warranty? Not for the road harzard reasons, I had good experiences with those.

My tires has been used for less than 50,000km from installation to now, and probably agruablly a lot less too...maybe in the 35k range if you exclude the time in between using winter tires. Less than 5 years. The Michelin Premiers are rated for 100,000km.

Took them back to Costco, and I was told you can only claim mileage warranty if it's down to 2/32th. All four sides are evenly at 4/32th right now.

Sounds kind of BS to have it run down to 2/32th??? Especially as we're approaching winter, and wet rainly months.

I don't know the answer to your question or have experience claiming a treadwear warranty, but I also don't want to be the bad guy here but it needs to be asked:

1. What car is this? (Make/model)
2. How is the car used? (i.e. daily driver / track car / commercial use with heavy loads etc.)
3. Was the vehicle ever in any accidents?
4. Is your alignment up to date or has it been checked regularly?
5. Do you rotate your tires/wheels regularly?

Answering these questions might help us and help you understand what's up with your tires. That's a bit abnormal in my experience with those tires. We have them on my parents' Toyota Sienna (or was it Lexus RX300 - doesn't matter I guess) with over 100,000km and there's plenty of tread left, likely enough to last another 3 or 4 years.

Reading the comments on that exact same page, lots of people didn't get much mileage out of it either. Especially when you start browsing the comments on the LTX one. It's a great tire, but not for the long term threadwear.

Typically you have to wait until you actually hit 2/32, since that’s when the tire is actually worn out. Mileage warranty can be difficult to claim, but if the vehicle has receipts for rotations, winter swaps etc which you should have (since it’s Costco and all that stuff is free). They might ask about alignment but if the tire is evenly worn, it shouldn’t be an issue (assuming the entire contact patch is 2/32, not just the inside or outside).

Far too many people try and claim against the mileage warranty with camber worn, heavily feathered or chopped tires. Or they have never come back for a rotation and they can’t produce receipts m/paperwork, and only the fronts are bald etc. If you have done your due diligence, go in and ask them to make up a dummy work order that says you were here, that the tires were worn to 4/32 and were told to come back at 2/32 to claim warranty

i claimed warranty once several years ago, it was pretty straight forward for me so probably unhelpful for you.

i don't drive much so i believe there must have been decent km's/life left, though the tires may have been older but within warranty (sorry going from memory).

showed up, checked the computer, they told me what $ i got back as i don't get the full amount i paid for the tires but what's 'left' on the tire...and we put it towards new tires and i basically paid the diff from what i recall.

basic family honda accord sedan, nothing special.
