My buddies had a torn boot and it was full of rocks when he removed it yesterday lol. Loads of guys run the Rzeppa with a lift and are fine if you maintain them properly, just like anything else. I only found that out after I'd already swapped mine. I wish I just rebuilt the Rzeppa because the swap was a PITA. I had to hunt down the correct tcase yoke since I have the uncommon spline count that hardly anyone knows about.

I just turned 40 and didn't want to drive something too young looking. I'm having a hard time with the R, even. Too much blue. The understated look of the MK7.5 was better.

Kev | What made you decide to get the MK8 if you already had the 7.5? Is it the market pricing, you wanted something different, better ergonomics, or...?

^ the goal initially was just to protect the paint. Ppf would do it, but for the same amount of money that inozetec wrap is pretty thick (and the Colors are more interesting), I got a sample piece from my installer and I’ve been testing on it. Seems to do a pretty good job at preventing scratches / rocks.
She’s going in the week after next.

maybe wrap it in satin PPF ? Thats a very nice color and seems to be a bit of waste with the color change.

Those seats are sick
Always loved those LC’s from the beginning..is it fair to say that is a vehicle that actually has value at current prices?

appreciate the kind words gents, i'm very smitten with this car.
I would say the money is worth it as you get the last NA V8 they'll probably ever make (even RX went 4 banger w/ turbo, and the new LX is v6TT) it makes a great noise and with the super shitty sales numbers, it has the making of a future collectable..... possibly. Its just ridiculously expensive for a Lexus. My wife thought it was a 50k car, when i told it was 150k+ shes like WTF.
but its because of stuff like this, carbon fibre reinforced plastic everywhere. Hood, doors, fenders, trunk.. pretty much there isnt any metal left in the body. (still a pig though)
And this is a real Toyota Product. They should have used this, stripped it of all its luxury and badged it a Soarer / Supra. It would have probably hit better with enthusiasts than the current BMW Supra. https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/usa-ca...onthly-yearly/

Yea that’s true like this should have been the supra.
The one thing like the MKIV had is that it was a BIG car I think that added so much to its presence. The current supra it’s kinda like ehh another like miata, 2 series, smaller car and I think it was a disservice to the name even though that’s the way cars are going

Have you seen a mk4 supra recently? Especially a stock one? I was astonished at how small it actually was compared to how I remembered it. I think a lot of the modded ones look bigger too because of all the clunky shit all over them, and that's almost all of them.
Edit: just looked it up. It's 3 inches longer and 3 inches wider than the e36 m3, which by todays standards is a really small car.

Those LC500s are super cool. A friend snapped one up for a good price and I got some seat time with it. It's a bit flashy for me (I wasn't comfortable with everyone looking) but it was really nice with more-than-enough performance for the street.

Edit: just looked it up. It's 3 inches longer and 3 inches wider than the e36 m3, which by todays standards is a really small car. | I think part of it is the proportions as well, 1.5" per side will make it look a bit heftier but it's also 3.4" lower than an E36. Newer cars are even worse. My old coworker had a 9th gen Lancer (which isn't even new anymore) and they're 8.3" taller than the Supra. But in your head you kinda think all cars are roughly the same height so out of context the Supra seems huge. If you see it next to another car or even a person though you realize it's just really low. Same deal with stuff like the Gallardo, it looks huge until you see someone beside it and realize it's wee and only 11mm longer than an E36.

Still look like a big car to me today.
I’d say a car that stands out as BIG today is the new 8 series coupe, I’d be curious of the dimensions of it VS other sport coupes

That 8 series is insane. Insanely big, insanely fast (m8 competition does 0-60 in under 3 seconds). On paper it’s very impressive.. But I drove it and found it lifeless. Interior wasn’t very special either and it looks like every other bmw. Didn’t seem like it’s worth the money.

BMW doesn’t make enjoyable cars anymore, other than the m2.

Edit: just looked it up. It's 3 inches longer and 3 inches wider than the e36 m3, which by todays standards is a really small car. | The front end of the Supra feels WAY bigger than the e36. You're sitting further back, and lower. The E36 is much easier to drive, but I could keep the back end of the supra in check more easily even with the extra ~90hp.
So maybe it's not much larger, but the proportions feel totally different. Quote:

I honestly always forget that mini is made by bmw. I’ve only heard great things as far as driver engagement in their sporty models. I’d have to get a GTI/golf R though again if I wanted a hot hatch
