self quote. apparently DR won't play second fiddle - he'll play 3rd

officially RB reserve driver next year. I guess he just couldn't stay away.

yuck

Vancouver240sx 11-18-2022 10:06 AM

To me DR to RB makes a BUNCH of sense. RB is looking into their future and honestly they don't have much. Throwing a rookie against Max is going to destroy them (look at Gas/Alb).

Yuki has underperformed against a very strong Gasley who they just lost(in a shit car this year). I'd personally chose Danny over Alex if you're looking at a possible replacement for Perez which looks to be coming.

I realize Danny has had a difficult time at McLaren but I don't think he's lost it.

I think RB expects Checo to be gone, and Yuki isn't up to the task of moving to RB. Albon isn't coming back I don't think. All things point to RB culture to be quite toxic.

There’s nothing in the world Of motorsports I’d like to see more than DR come to red bull and slaughter Max, but that’s a fantasy world.

Based on DR's performance in the last year or two, I'd say Latifi has a better chance of slaughtering Max than DR does.

Max would probably develop a tumor needing to accuse Latifi of purposely crashing at every race and qualifying.

Great68 11-20-2022 10:59 AM

Well that was an underwhelming finale.

StylinRed 11-21-2022 12:15 AM

Was able to watch it live here in Oz, damn Aston Martin fkd Vettels race, but luckily he still managed getting into the points... Man Alonsos going to have a hell of a time at AM

Was cool seeing Webber come up n shake Vettels hand on the grid pre-race

The F1 intro adding Vettel to the end, all the little nods to Vettel was cool to see

Shame about Perez, but glad Leclerc got it too, I think he'd go nuts if he didn't even manage that

Next years grid looks a bit like a Free Practice 1 where the teams let a buncha newbs test

You don't, because the car won't start and it's still in the paddock come race time tracing random electrical faults.

For a rookie, Zhou has done alright actually. And he seems like a nice enough guy.

That crash wasn't his fault.

Badhobz 11-21-2022 08:28 AM

^yeah i know, he got clipped from behind. Im glad the boy-o survived though. Time for Asians to represent more in this sport.

If he cant race anymore, maybe he can come to Richmond and give out driving lessons for c-lai's. Im sure some hamsup (horny) c-lai's wouldnt mind

bcrdukes 11-21-2022 08:48 AM

Unrelated to F1, but speaking of Asians in the sport...

he's a paid driver.

that's fine - there are plenty of others on the grid because of the sponsors that they bring, and the exposure that they create but he's there on money first, skill second.

he's been pretty good - i don't think he's held teams up or been a rolling hazard like Latifi. Also - he's got a great teammate in Bottas to show him the ways.

Lots of rookies next year - he needs to be at least as good as them.

mb_ 11-21-2022 01:37 PM

I had my reservations about Zhou when he first joined but he's far exceeded my expectations, as a rookie. He seems like a likable guy as well to boot.

tofu1413 11-21-2022 01:53 PM

Zhou seems to be one of the better paid drivers that gotten into the sport.

Last 10 laps weren't bad, watching to see if Checo could catch Leclerc, and if Leclerc's tires would hang on.

Otherwise yeah I agree.

Eff-1 11-21-2022 03:34 PM

I was listening to all the in-car radio after the race of the drivers who don't have seats for next year.

Seb and Daniel were wholesome and emotional, lots of love and appreciation shared. Each team (coincidentally perhaps) revealed a colour image of the driver on the steering wheel for him to see (in place of the usual metrics) during the cooldown lap which was a nice gesture.

Latifi's car broke down so he pulled into the pits to retire and the radio was silent/dead. Shouldn't laugh but lol.

(Kind of a bummer to see a Canadian to drop out of the s[ort and not be any good. Maybe we'll see another Canadian in 20 years again.)

Once Mick started doing donuts the team radioed and asked him to stop because "we just can't, sorry". LOL.

StylinRed 11-21-2022 08:56 PM

Lance hasn't been as bad as Latifi or Mick I guess so he has that goin for him :lol and at least we still have a Canadian repping in F1

It all depends on your perspective. I bet my friend some money that Latifi would come 19th lol. (And if he was any other position my friend would win)

It was a crazy roller coaster race and it was a blast to watch, from alonzo retiring, to the goatifi spin, to hamilton retirement and then Latifi NOT FUCKING FINISHING THE RACE HAHAHAHAHAHA

I’m $5 richer bitches

SkinnyPupp 11-22-2022 02:38 AM

Chinese GP canceled again next year

StylinRed 11-22-2022 07:07 AM

Wow was hoping/expecting China to fully reopen by CNY, but now it looks like they're staying isolated for forever
