For anyone that missed the after effects of the Schumacher accident, here's a clip of the crane trying to lift the car only for it to split. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLuWVKHa/ EDIT: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLuWDv3J/ And the clip of the actual incident |
Did the front tire blow over the curb, or it snapped a tie rod? |

Ocon almost lost it on the same corner |
Hi all, For anyone that needs a recap on FP1 FP2 FP3 and qualifying, along with pre and post qualifying show, follow this particular post on Reddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/Motorsports...and_prix_full/ And for the extra lazy folks, here's a direct link to Google drive, so download all the goods before it doesn't become available. https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...Wi?usp=sharing |
Charles and Max dueling it out at the end, max being the winner Gutted for Checo for losing position after coming in for a pit stop then a safety car coming out after that |
How does that boost system work? It seems to be pretty random, where sometimes the person behind has it, but sometimes they don't. And sometimes the person who just got passed has it, but sometimes they don't. I couldn't make any sense of it, and it seemed like whoever happened to have the boost last, won the race |

EDIT: Then there's also the battery hybrid system where drivers can charge the battery and deploy it for defense and attack mode. But I believe your question was leaning towards more on the DRS system. |

that's why ya saw Max and Charles braking during the race trying to let the other pass em at the detection zone, bcuz with the new regs the cars are able to drive really close to one another, so they're able to play more of a game of tag with the DRS line Also why in the last race Charles kept letting Max pass before the straights and Max kept falling for it, same with this race it took Max a min before catching on It's also why Hamilton refused to pass Max last season so Max slowed even more and Ham hit Max instead of passing |

So t hey wanted to create more passing, but all they did was create a new strategy where they refuse passing LUL |
I dunno..the last two races there’s been a tonne of passing |
Interestingly the DRS line hasn't played AS BIG of a role in other years (yes, we've seen incidents of this in the past, but not like we have this year). I think it highlights the new F1 design which is allowing drivers to follow more closely, which was the original problem DRS was brought in to fix. Now if we could get 1 refuel stop during the race, shit would get real!!! Rich |

I loved watching all the scraps, even throughout the midfield. I am loving this season so far! Lewis with the HUGE upset in Quali, very unexpected. Ferrarri in consistent winning pace so far. |

Seeing drivers purposely braking to avoid being ahead at the detection line is very unusual and the only other time I can remember that coming into play was last year at this same track. So it's all very situation-dependent. That being said, this year with the new regulations, we are all curious to see how the DRS zone at each track will come into play given the new aerodynamics. |
A lot of people seem to be upset about the fact that drivers slow down to play the "DRS detection" game. I say fuck that. I think it's great, I love the gamesmanship. That being said, I think the DRS as it was set up at this track was maybe just a touch too powerful. But I also think that despite the new regs, DRS does seem like it's still going to be necessary for a while. |
Without DRS I’m not sure the red bull could overtake the Ferrari. Certainly the Mercedes do not have the straight line speed for overtaking without it |

Exactly... I love it... it adds another layer to the drivers/team prowess, and becomes part of their strat. Same as the first race, pruposely letting Verstappen overtake on turn one, just to get him coming out of turn 4... On top of being the fastest on track with a competitive car, you also have to be the smartest on track. Though nth can help with bad luck, feel bad for Perez ... |
Also if races become even more competitive down the road where there’s 3-4 cars in contention toward the end of the race, you’re going to have to play that DRS game even more carefully as you’ll just be backing up a pack of cars waiting to overtake within those last few zones |

^^^ I found that out today too when setting my PVR for the weekend. I should be able to watch everything this weekend for the first time live. I get such satisfaction for voting for Driver of the Day, haha. Anyone else see the bollards on the outside of parts of the track for the Australian GP? Looks freaking scary. They are going to remove those before the race weekend right? https://d3cm515ijfiu6w.cloudfront.ne...1-1200x630.jpg |
