i got some questions

1 - which models require the least PDI @ WWL ? i remember during my WWL tour the guy said most of the exotics come pretty much ready to roll

2 - do you guys have a paint booth at your facility for damages or is that sent out somewhere else ? does the customer ever know about these sort of damages ?

3 - if there is damage during shipping transportation does that ever get recorded ? how can the end user find out?

Thanks Kilinim! interesting stuff

Not Kilinim but from my understanding cosmetic damage seldom gets reported to the end consumer - the repairs get fixed beforehand. Sometimes parts can also go missing from theft during transport, and a new part gets put in before being presented to a customer.

As far as least bit of PDI, I'd say Mazdas and GM. Majority just get tow hooks removed and then shipped out.

Used to have a paint booth but the program was discontinued. Paint deficiencies are handled off site.

Damage during shipping is recorded, if it's seen. Disclosure, that's another story. End user rarely factors into business consideration, imo.

Not directly GR Corolla related... but I see Toyota has updated their Canada site (but not the USA one!) with the manual 2023 GR Supra pricing... identical to the auto:

https://www.toyota.ca/toyota/en/build-price/supra

Probably means the GR Corolla pricing will be coming along shortly though!

Probably higher. I went to GoAuto VW (prev. Cowell VW) over the weekend. They're asking for 70K for a MK8 R in DSG with 500km.

That's for the base, so the one you want would be the Circuit prob around that 50k CAD mark.

Pretty in-line with the Golf R.

The CDN price of the new Civic Type R will probably be close to that as well.

What's the point you can't buy a type r or gr anyways so that leaves you with a golf r at the end of the day. Unless you buy an a45, do we even get those anymore?

We never got the A45, our A-hatch topped out at the A35 for us. The CLA / GLA got the 45 treatment.

It's unfortunate the Type R / GR Corolla will be tough to get because part of their appeal is the performance they deliver at their MSRP prices. I appreciate what Honda and Toyota are doing with their economy hatchbacks, but it's hard for me to feel excited when they're going to be inaccessible without paying a big premium.

Ditto to that. By limiting access and availability, and ensuring exclusivity, as an end consumer, you aren't left with many choices and the easiest one is to look elsewhere. I feel the same for Porsche and the artificial market they've created.

With pricing the way they are, M-B is pretty attractive. Yes I know these are the base prices and you can stack a bunch of options but still it's something to note.

A35 hatch/sedan- $52k
GLA35 - $54k
GLA45 - $64k
GLB35- $60k

Mini Countryman JCW $54k

Man I remember when the 350z was 30k to start and the 240sx was 25k

None of these cars seem to be that great of a deal. 40-50k is a helluva lot of money for a Corolla

Gr86 still best bang for the buck

^lol I was just spec’ing out a A35 hatch in rose gold as well, it’s quite appealing near base price. But then I remembered all the electrical issues a friend faced with her A250…

Core for Canada is $45,490 with circuit at $53,990 and morizo at 60k.

Interestingly it says core for Canada comes with heated seats and torsen diffs as standard.
