Got a call from the dealer asking what color I wanted for the core edition. He said the Circuit edition is going to hard to get.

from another site: Quote:
I just completed the bill of sale for my GR and can share some official info for Canada. Perhaps this data was posted already, but this is straight from the sales rep's desk as I was signing the purchase in Ontario.
PRICING (CAD):
Core: $45,490
Circuit: $51,480
Morizo: $59,990
freight: $803
PDI: $1,017
AC tax + Eco $100
The only option available is for 2 nonstandard Circuit colors:
Heavy Metal, Supersonic Red $255
STANDARD PACKAGES:
CORE
[1.6L Turbo 3-cylinder engine with 300HP
GR-FOUR Sports AWD System
Limited Slip Differential
18" Black Alloys
GR Sports Seats HEATED
Toyota Multimedia Remote Connect 3 yrs
Wireless Android Auto & Apple Carplay
CIRCUIT EDITION (limited production vehicle)
everything in Core +
Carbon Fiber Roof
GR Red Calipers
Hood Bulge with Ducts
Rear Spoiler
Exclusive Colors
GR Suede Seats
Signature Shift Knob
JBL Audio
Toyota Multimedia Remote Connect 3 yrs
MORIZO
everything in Circuit +
295 lb-ft torque
50 kg mass reduction
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2
Close-Ratio 5-Speed Transmission
Forged 18'' Alloys
Suede Shifter Knob
GR Suede Steering
GR Sports Seats
Toyota Multimedia Service Connect 10 yrs
So the good news for us in Canada is that Core comes standard with performance pack (LSD) and heated seats. Differences with Circuit are purely cosmetic. I'm first on the list at my dealership and told them I'll take whatever car they get - hoping for Circuit but expecting the Core. Suede seats is probably the one thing I'll miss most from Circuit. Spoiler and red calipers are an easy aftermarket add-on.
Still no ETA on when they land or quantity, but it sure feels good to have a signed Bill of Sale in hand.

I'm curious what a bill of sale means since there aren't any allocations, ETAs, quantities, etc yet.

My assumption would be a fancy term for an invoice without a product to sell.

Damn man... I was thinking of getting a Golf R. Since used is the same as new MRSP I may as well get a new one... and the VW guy told me it was about 18 months for a new one... so clearly this seems like a sensible alternative?
Think my wife would believe that?

Think my wife would believe that? | I hate to say this.... but if you are not already on the list... errr... your 18 month wait for the Golf R is probably faster...

I'm third on the list at the dealer and I was told I probably won't even be offered one til 2024.

Got this email: Quote:
We are still actively working on securing your new GR Corolla. Your order has been placed and date stamped with Toyota Canada. Unfortunately we have no estimate of ETA or any further idea until the order is filled by the manufacturer. With the current global parts and component shortage, availability is extremely scarce in all industries including automotive.
Rest assured, we are on your side and want you to have your vehicle as much as you want it. We will secure the soonest one available and update you when we have. Thank you for your understanding and partnership.

I decided to pull the plug on the GR Corolla deposit that I placed last year. I thought placing the deposit early will get me a decent spot in line, but it turns out that means next to nothing nowadays since the SM is just allocating cars to those that best fulfill their arbitrary criteria.
I won't have a problem meeting their demands (good trade-in, finance/lease deals only), but it feels a bit masochistic that I have to jump through all these hoops just so we can pay $50-60k minimum for a Corolla. And who knows what else they'll tack onto the vehicle.

^ same with the FL5 CTR. The real annoying thing is probably 70% of them are speculators too. buy to make a quick flip to make money. Quote:

Not saying you won’t like it, but you have options.

Plus they could easily lowball my trade-in enough to negate any profits I could see from selling the GR. Quote:

Although most of those LEs ended up with speculators, at least it felt like a more fair system where people had an equal shot at securing one while leaving the dealers out of the equation.

It's too bad people won't vote against these initiatives by dealers/manufacturers with their wallets... I had 3 diff deposits for a GR Corolla and pulled all of them just on principle.
Lifelong Toyota fan, but they can keep their GloRyhole Corolla................ even though I want one quite badly |

That’s a GLORolla
You could….. buy 2006 ratrolla XRS, mod the shit out of that 2zz all the while being best ratrolla to ever rolla.
Or !!!!
Buy the normal hatch ratrolla. Add “holes” and jack shit all for performance, then laugh all the way as you reliably drive it for 20+ years while sipping regular gasolina like a boss.
