No torsens on the Core Edition is a bummer for me. I'd really like to at least have one in the rear. I'll have to see if there are any aftermarket options from the Yaris and go from there.

Suprarz666 03-31-2022 06:36 PM

The core+performance pack comes with LSD's

StylinRed 03-31-2022 06:39 PM

From their official yt, but we've seen it all from the coverage I guess

teggy604 03-31-2022 06:43 PM

I wouldn't settle for anything less than circuit edition. Front and rear LSD, and cf roof makes up more than enough for the price difference. With it being same engine as the GR Yaris, there are already aftermarket support. They are already pushing 400hp on a stock Yaris.

Holy crap

Special K 03-31-2022 07:01 PM

This Circuit Corolla smells like a $65k with taxes and fees. It’s so sexy though.

Does anyone know why the GR86 is a 2.4L non-turbo whereas the GR Corolla is 1.6L turbo? Because rally car?

That would be the ideal, I don't like the look of the CF roof or hood vents anyways lol.

StylinRed 03-31-2022 07:24 PM

The circuit edition is going to come in red too Oooo (also white and the 'heavy metal')

I thought it may one be offered in the one colour, that's cool

Just how they want to market the GR86 and what it stands for.
They want to keep it underpowered so that it stays as a entry level sports car that's all about finesse and handling. While you can perfectly do that with a more powerful car, keeping it underpowered only emphasizes that handling aspect of it even more, since that's really all it has going for it. They don't want to boost it.

I don’t think so, it can’t be $10k more than a CTR.

Base GR Supra is $55k… it’s going to be $45ish

That CF finish doesn't look so good imo...

Kind of reminds me of particle board.

Forged CF is basically CF particle board with some resin.

twitchyzero 03-31-2022 07:51 PM

those that said they wished they bought an integra type r brand new

this is it guys. Pocket rocket. In-house assembled by takumis. no watered down automatic version. Power output equal or better than what's available in JDM. relatively obtainable unlike 4RS

put your money where your mouth is!

might be the last chance with electrification already happening

man, i already forgot about the subaru gr86 lol

i wonder what they did with all that LFA tooling

68style 03-31-2022 07:54 PM

To me the Fiesta ST was the most recent version of an “Integra Type-R” we had and look at prices of those now… couple years ago they were all $10-12k now you can’t find one with reasonable mileage if you can find one at all for less than $18k.

This is going to be one of the swan song cars for ICE.

Yes. I think so. Its a "homologation special." Race car for the road. If you look at WRC, GR is one of the racing teams. And they have to follow specific rules. So this is a special car and I dont know how many they have to produce to meet the requirements but I have a feeling it will be less than the CTR.

I believe 500 units for homologation rules.
Just did a quick google and the top rally class (Rally 1) is limited to a 1.6L turbo motor with a restrictor plate, about 290 hp.

Manic! 03-31-2022 08:42 PM

So who here put down a deposit. i did with Toyota Nanaimo Around 4:30 P.M. today.

Government plans to ban all new ICE car sales by 2035.

68style 03-31-2022 08:44 PM

Care to share details? What did they ask for? Any form of pricing guarantee? Terms? Did they say what number you are in line? Etc

underscore 03-31-2022 09:17 PM

Toyota uses the Yaris for the WRC, not the Corolla, so there's no limitations or requirements from that.

I guess now you have to pick Core or Circuit? Which one will you go for?

I knew I've seen that texture before... just didn't know the terminology.
I still don't like it though,. lol.

inv4zn 04-01-2022 08:08 AM

I just found about this thing, holy crap haha.

It's the unironic anti-corolla, but it's really a corolla.

This car is tremendous and I really hope it does well.

rawr 04-01-2022 08:31 AM

Anyone put a deposit in lower mainland? Whats the wait list like?

whitev70r 04-01-2022 08:33 AM

For all the advice regarding financing .. isn't that moot if there is no inventory? Wouldn't you discuss that with the financial agent of the dealer closer to the time of the car's arrival? I mean what can they promise you a year down the row in terms of rates?
