Other than the ND Miata and S2000, I haven't driven a single internet hype car that lived up to its reputation for driving excitement

GTI: soft, bad shifter, weak clutch, 5% better than base Golf TSI. Get a R or base model.

DC5S: bros said they're great daily but the drone/stock seats are awful, lacks an LSD. Kevins who drive these must not drive much further than their suburb lol

FK8: i'm sure it's great at the track and the seats are amazing, but shifter's not s2k good and it's not super entertaining. if you're not a dad, why do you need all that space? if you wanna get good at track fr, race with West Coast Kart Club

S5/RS6: stupid fast, 50 layers of software isolating you and audisteer ... body roll is worse than a hellcat

M340i/Stinger GT/G70: this whole class of car feels like a very capable accord. they're fast but there's 0 imagination/spice driving these, it's giving suburb boi who sometimes goes into the city

WRX/STI: body roll and thirst worse than a scat pack, awful shifter/clutch/stock tune/reliability

E46 M3: great controls and suspension for a daily ... but u can fit a ton of stuff in a Cayman as well so why not just get that lol

The DC5S seats have an issue where they collapse, that might be your issue if you drove one in the last... decade.

WRX/STI: Rally car roots?

Does the Cayman fit a lot of stuff? You can't fit 4 ppl in a Cayman though.

Only if it's for sale long enough, I need time to get into shape so I can pull off the proper outfit.

I've had quite a bit of fun yeeting light FWD cars into corners, but I'd really love to try something RWD. Probably the best enjoyment I've had driving a car was a Toyota MR-S on a very wiggly road but I'd probably crash something mid-engine in the long run lol.

WRX/STI: Rally car roots?

Does the Cayman fit a lot of stuff? You can't fit 4 ppl in a Cayman though.
RE DC5S I think it's still not that good of a daily nor that good of a sports car with how compromised the rear suspension it; IMO get a EK or get something RWD with some sound insulation

STI: sure u could excuse the rally roots for the softer tune, but the engines/shifters are just so so bad. Lancer didn't have this issue

Cayman: yeah but are you really carrying 4 people like that? if you live in the city, ppl gonna find their way over & if you live in teh suburbs, one of the friends defs has a 4 person car

Just picked up my circuit edition on Tuesday. It was a good drive home from Regina, l/100km were better then I expected. Clutch is extremely numb feeling, shifter feels good, not great. Seems like lots of people recommend upgrading the engine pitch mount, it seems like when shifting you can feel a bit of rocking from the engine through the shifter. So see what difference that makes shortly. Plan for the car will be just an all year everyday car for us. Couple small things, the piano black interior is meh, the infotainment is mediocre for a 2024 vehicle, the window controls on the driver door card are kind of in a weird position, I feel I have to bend my arm awkwardly to work the back windows *nitpicking, but was just weird first time I used it, feel like it could have been moved forward a couple inches.*

I don’t think many people are paying over MSRP anymore, with a little effort you can find brand new cores or CE for MSRP.

It seems in line with the other ones I've seen for sale down there. Kelowna wants over MSRP for one with 9k on it which is ridiculous.

iM is the prev gen car

Corolla hatch is the subsequent gen car

(Of course at the end of the day, the iM is a Corolla hatch. But that isn't what 68style was referring to.)

There are some big differences between the iM and the Corolla hatchback, namely the chassis, where the Corolla hatchback is on the new TNGA platform, and new engine and transmission. Plus, on the Corolla hatchback, you have various trim levels, whereas the iM, like in Scion fashion, there is only one trim and they are often fully loaded. How many pedestrian cars do you find with electronic folding mirrors as a factory option? Very few, until you move into the luxury segment.

Regardless, I'm salty about what Toyota did. I bought a 2017 and they kept it for 2018, then boom! Corolla hatchback on TNGA.

Edit: Oh yeah, my only saving grace is that the iM is a J-VIN.
