tl;dr: tall gearing matches the 6MT ratios from 1-4, matches the ZF 8-speed in shift quickness, much better transmission tuning than the mk8 Golf R's DSG.

But the price is still bloody insane for a Corolla.

I dont think it’s for anyone. I hardly see any of them around. It’s wayyy too expensive for what it is.

I mean my hitlerbox was only 42k and on the lease, it’s only 500 a month with zero down. Similar lease for a GR ratrolla is like 1300 a month!!!

A Golf R is closer to a GRC and they're about the same price last I checked.

I see them around here every so often and I saw 2 in the short time I was on the south island. The GVRD just has weird car demographics.

I think the GRC is a great toy, I would not DD one due to lack of creature comforts. Which puts it in a weird spot IMO. If it's not my DD, I'm willing to buy used as milage won't be much of an issue at that point.

Then at 60k, you have a lot of options for toys. I really wish the interior was just a tad nicer, the car is a riot but the exhaust drones like no tomorrow.

You can buy a Maserati and a golf r for $60000.
