Martin's a very solid backup. I would trust him and use him in more games if that means the team plays better. Demko tbh hasn't been playing well for his standards lately. Maybe burnt out.

HNIC ... Friedman reported that mgmt gave message to players. Summary - we've had 2 coaches with this group of players so don't think that's the solution. The change might come in the roster.
Do you think that was what lit the fire under their arses in the last 2 games?

I didn't pay full attention to these games, but from what I saw most of them were playing pretty hard.. Just like they did for the last coach. Except Miller defensively. So maybe the message was mostly for him
You know what's even worse? He asked to be traded, and the team that traded for him then says "nah, you can stay there". He's on loan back to Abby, but he's not even getting played in Abby, lol...
The canucks handled his development pretty poorly but again its not surprising. I cant think of 1 prospect Utica/Abbotsford has developed properly for the big club since maybe Kesler/Burrows.
Jarome Iginla had no shortage of run-ins with the Vancouver Canucks and fellow forward Ryan Kesler.
And there was certainly no love lost.
Just ask Kesler, who dished on the on-ice relationship between the Pacific Division foes recently on the Spittin Chiclets podcast last week.
“Jarome f*cking hated me, man,” Kesler said on the show. “That guy, preseason he’d be like ‘alright we’re doing this, lets go.’ I’d go ‘buddy, it’s preseason…relax.’ Easy there Captain Selfish. Relax.
“He talked so much sh*t. It was a whole thing. They told me to shut up. They said, ‘don’t talk to him Kes…you’re just going to rile him up and then he’s going to score three goals and then the game’s going to be over.’ I wouldn’t talk to him. Then as soon as he scores, of course, I can’t help myself. ‘Oh you scored a goal finally… you must be happy… you’re losing 6-1, but…'”
Classy guy. First class on the ice. First class off the ice. Even when we got in our chirping-fest or he wanted to fight, I think that’s the guy I fought the most in my career, it’s him… I think we fought four times.
Fuck feel bad for the kid ever since he was put in against the sharks, what a mistake
lol, no idea he was traded, but good riddance??
I remember at one point, he was supposed to be the future goalie prospect, but the couple times he was called up, he got lit up pretty bad. I'm sure the Canucks' D was terrible, but I recall a bunch of them were just straight up softies too.
I don't follow him in AHL, but just looking at his numbers, they look kind of average too. Hopefully he gets a fresh start now, but he just simply wasn't good enough here.
