I think that the plan/play drawn up in this instance was that the 6th man had to be on the ice as they brought the puck up (makes it easier to gain entry and/or recover the puck when there are more bodies for the other team to cover). Delia waiting/delaying meant the 5 man unit would be up the ice with the 6th man trailing if/when Delia goes to the bench, which makes entry into the offensive zone 5 on 5 with no advantage.
So they lost around 10 secs, but they still did that play you mentioned where the 6th man had to be on ice as they brought the puck up. Which didn't matter because they still lost the puck battle and coughed up a empty net goal.

no one's arguing the results, and it's still a gamble anytime you pull the goalie. the point was just that after Delia went to the bench with the 6th man jumping up to the blue line as the puck was brought up, seems like that's the play they planned (6th guy needs to be ahead of the puck, not behind). the fact Boeser was also pointing at the bench seems like he thought they were going to execute some sort of plan as well.
not saying that miller doesn't have a shitty attitude, but in this situation, i think everyone was at fault.
In a vacuum it’s not that bad. Everyone gets frustrated with teammates/colleagues from time to time, and sometimes it manifests itself in an ugly way. But when there’s a history of this type of behaviour the person either corrects it or you get rid of them.
Can we fucking tank for him already? I don't care if the odds are only 16% or whatever, and if we have to ship out everyone except EP and QH to even have a chance.
I'd love to watch him play for us even if we were bottom feeders for the next 10 years

Being from North Van, you know he's going to give it his all for the team. If, by any chance, he becomes a Canuck, I'd be back as the hard core Canuck fan that I used to be.
1 in a million chance, though...............
Owner and management will find a way to fuck things up.

Dekes out all three Slovaks, then the goalie. Took charge and got 'er done. Bedard is pretty short, but he's been a giant in this tournament.
The Slovak team played way above their pay grade, lol. Never beat Canada in the history of the tournament, but they came ever so close to changing that. Hats off to their team.
Next up, the amuricans

Maybe we'll win the cup in 2033 when he turns 27 and signs with us.

^ so what you are saying is that if Canucks can get rid of him, we can look forward to back to back Stanley Cups?
Prob not back to back Stanley cups lol. But at least you don't have an entitled dude running around thinking hes too good to backcheck or put in any effort in his defensive game. Bieksa call him out after the game against the flames.
watching the canucks is very depressing..so i stopped completely. they need to blow up the team and start from scratch. The fan base will get super excited if management actually starts to make some trades and get some draft picks.
This month of games against tough opponents like Colorado, Pittsburgh, and Tampa may be the start of a fast downward spiral for the team.
Leaky defence. More turnovers than a bakery. -looks like to me that the team's weak mental state is going to take an even bigger beating.
-No pushback in games when the team is trailing in a game.
An inept defensive "system" under assistant coach Mike Yeo along with inept defencemen such as Meyers and OEL.
It looks like either this team has quit on each other when the team is trailing in games or just waiting to see what Allvin and the rest of the management team are going to do to stop the bleeding with this team.
The Islanders are a well coached team that plays with a good defensive system. Boudreau kept telling the team to block shots. He told reporters that he writes down the phrase "shot blocking" on a whiteboard in the locker room.
A big stat from last night's game: Islanders: 18 blocked shots. Canucks: 3 blocked shots.
Went to the game last night, first one in a while and the atmosphere was just checked out
Kids excited but everyone else sees the writing on the wall. Pretty sad
I was there too! Lots of empty seats... the only thing that made it exciting for me is that I was sitting with a lot of Australians who were watching their first ever hockey game so they were pretty pumped and asking me all the rules etc. fun group
