General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with forward Dakota Joshua on a two-year contract.
The 6'3", 206-pound centreman has played in 42 career regular season NHL games since 2020.21, all with St. Louis, recording nine points (4-5-9) and 23 penalty minutes
There are soooo many bad goalie deals going around. Kuemper is going to shit the bed in WSH.
Tampa Bay is mental, all of their extensions they're signing dont kick in until next year... but even right now they're 6.5M over the cap for the 22-23 season and probably have to trade Killorn and Cole for nothing before the season starts...
23-24 though????? They're going to be at 72.1M with only 13 players signed... ridiculous............

Tampa got secret sauce to circumvent cap ... called LTIR during regular season and miraculous healing in game 75 of the season.
We're only about 2.5M over the cap for this season? We could trade any of Dickinson, Pearson or Myers and be under... don't have to dump JT
I read somewhere that a good chunk of the Canucks cap room is because Michael Ferland's 3.5 million salary is part of that room. He is on LTIR because of concussions.
Jersey is probably a pretty sweet spot actually due to location as well as anonymity in NYC. No one cares about hockey there to some degree where yo can probably come and go as you please in restaurants etc.

Sharks have made some really odd decisions... rebuilding team, but they didn't even qualify Dahlen (therefore bringing to close all the Canucks fans complaining we gave him away for nothing) and buying out Balcers who, at least when we played against them, seemed like a pretty tenacious and skilled checker...
Add in giving Burns away for absolutely nothing in return... yikes...
I like the free agency moves that Allvin has made so far.
They addressed some of the team needs: A right hand shot forward, team speed, and physicality.
Lazar is a right handed centre. -also a local guy from Salmon Arm. -good for Curtis to play closer to home.
Mikheyev is a speedy winger with scoring touch.
Dakota Joshua adds size and physicality as a bottom six forward. Allvin mentioned to reporters today that he watched Dakota play some games as a St. Louis player.
Johnny Gauderau taking less money to sign with.... Columbus Blue Jackets? What in the literal f is going on. What a massive slap in the face to Calgary holy hell.
Yah even if he wants to be close to his family... that's 500 miles out of Philly/New York area... and a pretty shit team to boot, not even remotely a contender. This is an extremely puzzling decision on his part.
If these terms are true, then it's about the same $$ value for Goudreau. Calgary offered $10 x 8 yo. Apparently, he wanted closer to be with family in the East but Columbus ??!!
^so true. I’ve thought different teams in areas with super high or super low tax brackets should have cap adjustments if parity is really what Battman wants.

^ Even currency isn't fair, all hockey players are paid in USD... I mean yah 10 years ago it was on par and teams up here were on a level playing field but the last 8-9 years it's been anywhere from a 20-30% deficit.
