I will find out tomorrow and let you know, but it won't be pretty for sure.
Our showroom is filled with Ex-demo units with 6,000-18,000 KM already on the 2022/2023 models. That is all the "inventory" we got in terms of "new cars" on both the Genesis and Hyundai side.

i dont know where all the LC's went but there's none on craigslist right now.
Some dude on the LC forums on clublexus said he just ordered one from openroad lexus richmond and delivery date will probably be next year around the same time.
my dealer buddy recently just saw this one come in for service. This fob owner apparently just took off to china and left this glorious INSPIRATION edition (white seats) coupe sit in his apartment garage. The battery was dead and mr fob jump started it backwards, so it fried all the electronics and was in the shop for weeks.
if it ever comes up ill post it on good buys. Quote:

Dont miss the 15k services but still miss it. I see it occasionally driving up and down Granville.

Very Banana color combo.

The same fob guy had it listed for $125k this summer IIRC, and here it was at the dealer back in June:
There's a second '19 Inspiration series model around town.

yes, the sales manager of openroad lexus richmond has it. Same exact color combo. I asked him if he wanted to sell it before, but he thought i was joking so we never finalized.

Started looking into the LC500's too, I want one in the future, seems like buying new and waiting a year is the play vs the used market. Maybe a 2023/24 refresh is incoming?

sorry for derailing this thread Dark
^there's rumors that 2023 will be the last year they make the LC500 Gerbs. Its a loss leader for Toyota and they've only sold like under 2000 units globally since 2018. They are losing money on every one they sell as they cant even recoup the development costs. They axed the F variant of the LC because of such lackluster sales already so im pretty sure the end is neigh for the LC.

what a shame.
the LC500's feels like its the last of the "honest" lexuses... wicked NA V8 and superb build quality. It doesn't have the nicest or latest tech, but it always felt like it was just one very well made coupe (with aston martin looks)
Will be quite sad to see them go away...

May I attempt to derail this topic of Lexus back to topic of thread.
So dark8021 ... what was the most difficult thing about changing to car sales. As I remember the story, you were in sales in another industry, was it just a simple change of product? I recall there is a licensing exam with the Province, was that difficult to study and pass?

There is something to be said about a car that doesn't terrify you every time you turn the key. The most trill I had was turning the key on a Z4.
Shits like russian roulette.

I recall there is a licensing exam with the Province, was that difficult to study and pass? | In terms of mentality - the most challenging part is showing up to work not knowing if you are making money today.
In terms of job difficulty - I would say car sales actually suites me more compared to selling signs. But the 2 jobs are actually quite different. The last job was mostly business to business with only a handful of retail customers, while as this one is 100% retail. The only compliment that I received while at the dealership related to my last job is that people say I write very good emails LOL.
Having said that, I like chit-chatting in general, especially about cars (even mundane cars like the Elantra). So I found this job easy as I felt like I could be myself a bit more while maintaing some resemblence of being professional.
This part could be completely wrong = Regardless of closing the deal or not, the general sense I get is that no client was turned off by "my sale style". Maybe they are just being super polite, regardless of turning me down in person or over text/email. They always complimented my service, and found the process "a pleasent surprise".
Yes - there is a car sales licensing exam - it is dead easy, but a good tool to let you know what the legalities and specific terms of the car sales business is. The test is an open book multi-choice test, I would say easier than the knowledge test for your driver license since it is open book.
I am super thankful of everyone here, and the ones that reached out to me personally! And something stuck with me after I accepted the job offer but before I started...
I am in the business of helping my clients find their next car, not in the business of selling cars. It is this mentality that I carry everytime I approach a client.

Nevertheless he hasn't been burned yet by customers, but that will come in time, we all go through it
I still remember my rookie days when the customer said they'll come back and buy the car; just want to grab a coffee with the wife up the street. They never came back and I was just waiting by the door with my cellphone in hand. |

^ That’s getting burned? Sounds like they just wanted a quick way out without the salesman hounding them.

Here is a question for you.
How do you feel about customers buying cars they can't afford or writing a horrendous deal that will pad your pockets? I'm sure sales managers are breathing down your neck. Seems like all sales people eventually fall into this bucket.
How do you think you will justify to yourself that you're doing the right thing?
My buddy works finance at Honda and the deals he sees come across the table...60k accords and neg equity up the wazoo. All the sales guys tell themselves if they didn't write the deal, someone else across the street would have and it's not their job to be their mom.
What do you think? No right or wrong answer.

It’s supply and demand. Emotions isn’t part of this and least of all the poor sales guys who don’t dictate the market situation.
If you’re seriously poor but need a ride there are still a ton of es350 that are under 10-12k and completely usable for another 5-10 years. Most of these buyers who are willing to pay more are just splurging because they can, and refuse to wait it out. I should replace my 2010 ES but I’m going to wait it out
