My entire school was a special needs class.

Eff-1 11-08-2022 12:26 PM

My high school had a free student phone that we all could use when we needed to call for a ride home.

punkwax 11-08-2022 01:30 PM

My high school had fights pretty much every single day.

tide pods to eat and glue to sniff for recess?

I had CE 12 in East Van in the 90's. It was basic education on subjects like how to make a basic budget, writing cover letters, resumes, how to fill out a tax return. Stuff like that.

bcrdukes 11-11-2022 07:46 AM

Did that become CAAP?

dark0821 12-04-2022 09:26 PM

Another months down.

I am happy to say that I have officially passed probabtion.

Once again (fortunate or unfortunately) finished 2nd place in overall deals placed, 2nd place in overall cars delivered. Was so close, was ranked first until Nov 29...sigh haha

Beginners luck though =) Still have no idea what I am doing.

Off to a decent weekend start this Dec, now all about consistency, go go go!

Badhobz 12-05-2022 05:31 AM

but youre working all weekends right? cant be easy on the fam.

Does 1st place get a bonus? Or is it just bragging rights? Any bonus for 2nd place? Just curious how they incentivize salespeople on top of commissions.

whitev70r 12-05-2022 07:54 AM

December should be a good month, at least it was in the past when dealerships had inventory and pushed for sales/delivery to achieve year end goals and numbers. But now with inventory sparse, I don't think there are any incentives ... seller's market.

i just got an invite to openroad lexus's private sale on the 8th. They havent had one in 3 years.

looks like they have some stock (22' RX's) so i think the demand is dropping and supply is slowly catching up

If you go to their website and look at their current stock, most of the cars have some stupid "added accessories" that im pretty sure you cant even remove.

At least at our dealership, more so just bragging rights lol.

No one brags about it, but when I went into the interview, I told them that I came here to be the best, not to just take home a pay cheque etc etc.

So its more on me than anything else, I dont think anyone else cares.

That is good to know, we are still hurting quite a bit over here. Absolutely nothing for 2022 cept for one Santa Cruz

And our 2023 is like... you gotta love the color and trim and spec, or else factory order times is gonna hurt...

Is the Veloster N officially done, no more inventory flowing in? I got quoted close to $39.5 - 39.5K for a trade-in recently. Kinda wanna swap to Elantra N for new tech.

dark0821 12-05-2022 02:54 PM

Yes, its done done, no more.

Its essentially the same car, what features are selling you on the Elantra that the Veloster lacks?

Gumby 12-05-2022 03:54 PM

Glad to hear you're doing well and enjoying it so far.

What puzzles me is this - what are you delivering if stock levels are terrible?

It's like the dealership received 20 cars in November, and there are 7 sales people (imaginary numbers).

68style 12-05-2022 04:01 PM

I liked how the white Kona N in your showroom looked!

Too bad they don’t make a manual version…

I'm thinking it's probably used car deliveries included with new car deliveries

Ahh I see I see... I havn't tried it so I cant tell you, but 2 of our staff have the Elantra N, both DCT, they seem to love it.

Not sure how the 20hp will stack, as the Elantra is most defn heavier I would say. But maybe it rides better due to the longer wheelbase?

I can comment on how good we have it in Canada though, people from the states will drive up to our Richmond dealer to pick up parts for their N. Some of our "standard equipment" on our "N" is downright not available in the states, even if you wanted to pay extra. And most of the parts are plug n play, like having just the extra plug dangling if you pop under the dash or under the carpet on the floor.

What do we get that they don't? That's really odd cause usually it's the same car. Usually it's the other way around?

The only thing I can think of are the cold weather options. In my M3, most southern cars don't get the heated steering wheel. People look for a heated wheel to swap into their cars, whereas it comes standard on all Canadian models.

thats like the civic Si that we get here vs the US model.

Ours are apparently more decked out with features vs the stateside "strippers"

We get heated seats, steering wheels, lane assist?, block heater, and cyber grey colour.

Looking at forums, people paid $33 - 38K USD for the Veloster N which is $45 to $52K CAD due to mark-up.
