woah... magnesium is epic looking. Also that white vert has rear seat caps. ive never seen anything like this before. THANKS MR BAWS!!!!! more research needed now to find pricing and where to get those color matched rear seat caps https://www.trdparts.jp/lexus/lc/ima...terior_508.jpg I found it! Aerodyanmic TRD air cowl-cow-wow-wowow-wowowoowow. also i found the price.... 17k USD :heckno: |
TRD rimz is 6-8 months out right now. I inquired with a couple of places and its all the same https://c.tenor.com/bLpnub0MTWkAAAAC/darth-vader-no.gif |

Should just use that money towards a blue corolla instead. |
Who actually creates the business case to make these parts? They will sell what, a dozen at 17k? 17k is outragous. All the RD, moulds etc surely this part will make no money, and are they stocking this thing on a shelf in japan somewhere? |
^ The same way people pay 4000$ for rims, there is someone that pays 17k for rims |
The more expensive a car is, the more ridiculous prices for accessories are. Prancing horse fender badge option on a Ferrari years ago used to be $10,000+... for 2 painted metal badges. Because Ferrari. |

4k on big-ass 19x10 wide wheels is not THAT crazy. Any crappy OEM wheel for a civic will lick you for 300-400. This TRD thing is a VERY niche vanity item with an out of world price tag that only fits on this car. 10k on 400k F car is not that crazy, 14k USD on a 120cnd car is INSANE. The market for WORK XYZ wheel for your bmw/audi/vw/benz for 5k is wayyyyyyyyyy bigger than the market for a LC500 TRD Air thing. That's why I'm asking what the business case is. |
A lot of those cars lose money though... didn't Lexus lose tens of millions on the LFA? At least they're letting their engineers have some fun... make a few bespoke products for discerning individuals (rich people) and have a whole lot of people yearning for them... they end up eventually giving up hope of owning it and buying other stuff to satisfy that craving right?? hahaha why not if they got some extra CF around, make a few of these covers and get some great photoshoots/marketing material and sell them at cost.. brand mystique! Guy who wanted a LFA buys a LC... guy who lusts after a LC buys an IS... guy who lusts over an IS but can't afford it buys a Corolla... guy in Corolla trolls guy in LC... round and round the world goes |
I assume it's made-to-order, and I'm sure a sizable chunk of global LC owners are wealthy enough to the point where $17k is pocket change. Especially in the JDM / Asian market where their taxes / fees make this vehicle way more expensive than what we pay here in North America. We aren't the main demographic for this product, and that's okay. It doesn't need to make sense for us, and at the end of the day it's up to Toyota to decide if producing and offering the part makes sense for them. If the market isn't there then it's only their loss. |

Or 4000$ BBS rims on a '96 GTI worth 1200$ you know who are you are |
These days? That GTI is worth 20k. |
Even people with bucket full of money can’t really justify this 17k piece of CF. I’m on a few different LC clubs and I’ve only ever seen this on the one car bic baws showed me. It’s ridiculous! Also I’m pretty sure Lexus loses money on every LC they sell. The machining to create this low volume car with all the CF crap can’t be a good business model. I read that Akio toyoda wanted the LC to be a big middle finger to other manufacture like Porsche and Mercedes’ as they are always on the red carpet of classic car shows. I guess we’ll see in 20-30 years if this thing will hold its value. |
Does that part even have a part number? Does it actually exist? lol |
I want a LC but is it worth $20k more than a Ls  and I can have the excuse to haul parents gf around but stonks FeelsBadMan |
i saw a few 2018 ones for around 80k.. not much savings but better than 150k for a new one |
One of those cars where pricing is way way better in Canada… all the USA ones are $80k USD and up unless they’re totally thrashed |
https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...paign=atempest i just went on auto tempest and US wide, this is the cheapest LC at 65k USD w/ 65,000 miles not horrible i guess. these things hold their values quite a bit better than a S class mercedes or a bmw 8 series https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/1...paign=atempest Just ran the 911's and it seems to be on par w/ their depreciation in the states. MSRP w/ the 911 is significantly higher than the LC500 so technically the LC is hold itself better than the 911 |
I really like some of the oddball colours that you don't really see up here for the LC... there's that green (which is actually quite a nice colour I think) but only comes with the bizarre Arizona desert interior colour scheme... the yellow with white (???)... the blue with blue/orange/white interior... things got a little weird on a few of the special editions. My favourite is the Nightfall Mica dark blue, next being the red you got. The green: https://www.cnet.com/a/img/resize/6e...675&width=1200 The yellow's egg interior: https://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/cr...--7_800x0w.jpg The blue's crazy interior: https://l1-cms-2.images.lexus-europe...54-1138033.jpg |
