Work Wheels?

Does anyone know how i can order 4 of these work wheels?

Ive never even heard of work wheels till a few months ago. I was trying to find Japanese wheels in my 21 size (or 22) but its limited. Advan, rays, enkei, all pretty much nothing. Work seems to be the only ones that make it that big. Are they a good wheel brand?

Work has been around since the 80’s at least, some of their retro styles have made a comeback.. they are very respected company / solid wheels.

Some designs are cast not forged, little less strong but very high quality wheels.

The style of this particular wheel (and the Schwert lineup) looks a little… cheap, for the LC.

Yellow is a complementary colour to blue, so maybe something less busy but in gold/bronze would work. No pun intended.

I agree I think those look more like something you'd put on a VIP van build or an older JDM sedan or something like that...

Have you looked into Vossen wheels? They make a lot of bigger sizes with tonnes of colour customization.

https://vossenwheels.com/wheels/

Or if you're baller... which you are... HRE... they're broken wheel days are way way behind them now but they are about $3k per wheel?

https://www.hrewheels.com/wheels

I'd say with the calipers already painted yellow... and the interior being red with the blue... gold or bronze wheels are NOT going to work... you need more a gunmetal or darkish centre with polished lip combo.

Not to hijack this thread... but does anyone know anyone locally that has Rays wheels in Gun Blue 2?? I cannot for the life of me figure out what colour they are based on online photos. It's very frustrating lol!

Apparently these are all the same colour wheel:

Like seriously? What the fuck?

The real-life photos are accurate for Gun Blue 2.

I believe there is a serious lead time with ordering aftermarket wheels - most of the time they're special ordered so you'll have to wait. I inquired with Overdrive last year on a set of 57CRs and was told it'll be a 4-6mo wait.

Ugh... why such a weird colour... I just want silver/slightly darker than silver wheels... that gun blue 2 might be okay on like a white car?? Atrocious otherwise.

Rays has no flexibility for choosing colours either. It's either that or black. Yay,

I'm not too worried about wait time, way back when (like 2008) I ordered Gram Light 57S Plus for my MR2 Turbo in a custom staggered size... it took like 6-8 months that time too... not just a supply chain issue lol

Thanks for the insight gents. Appreciate it.

I’m trying to stick to Japanese wheels (weird requirement I know) but I think it fits the car.

Where do you guys get these wheels from anyways ? Who’s a good distributor for rays ? I’ve looked into popular websites like tire rack but they don’t seem to carry any Japanese wheels.

I don't know about now but Drivehard Performance on Bridgeport carried Rays and Work wheels. Very easy to go through them, assuming the stock was there. I'm not sure about now. I haven't been there in years.

When in doubt BBS LM… they’ve successfully crossed the waters for both Euro and JDM

Would make it look a bit like the LFA Nurburgring Edition

Actually I take back what I said earlier, looking at photos it's not as blue as I remembered. It's quite hard to tell from photos because white balance and/or filters can throw off the actual color, but it looks mostly gray with a hint of dark blue? Here are some photos I found online:

Yah still disappointing that they don’t offer a bright silver or at least how they first photo looks

Silver goes with everything! Not many colours can pull off this weird flat gunmetal.

If you know exactly what you want and the part number, I highly suggest going with a Japanese exporter if you want to save the most. I highly recommend Jesse Streeter as he charges a fair fee. If you need advice, he's probably not the best person to ask but you have the forums here anyways.

I got CE28SLs for less than $3k CAD landed. No one local or US can beat it. The wait time is exactly the same since they're all pretty much factory ordered. The only thing is certain local/US distributors have their own special colour way that Rays only make for them so that's why you get limited colour choices.

Send me a side pic of your car, plus a couple of options that your looking at, and il generate some pics here

I think sites like 1010tires and such still have wheel simulator apps you can use, to get a better idea what wheels will look good for your car

Thanks Mr Donk! im open to your suggestions

Picking wheels is a pain in the ass, there's so many choices and its hard to gauge what looks good and what doesnt unless you can see them in person. maybe these Rays 21's ? but i think it might be too dark and looks sucked in.
