On the topic of convertibles I just walked by the Porsche dealer this morning and noticed they have a 911 GTS Cabriolet as part of their rental fleet....we should find out how the buffeting is on that.

2020 ILX Premium. Just about to break the two months of ownership mark. Already got a cold air intake and removed some stuff for weight savings. Love this thing! |

However from your choice of mods.. If performance and numbers are what you're after, this may not be the best platform to build on..
Edit: oh shit he's serious about this car https://www.revscene.net/forums/7176...s-display.html

While I understand (and have experienced myself) buying the lower trim / not the top sport model whether it be financial or availability reasons, I agree with Hobz. It doesn't make much sense to buy a regular car and delete some stuff to make it "lighter" lol.
At the end of the mod creep, it still won't be a luxury Si. You'll either have luxury or Si, not both. Compromised on both ends. It's tough. On the other hand, if it's just a street/stance build, whatever you're happy with bro. Anyway, go find some Civic Si seats, I'm sure those will fit great and since this is basically the same K24Z7 from the 9th gen si, there will be plenty of used parts on 9thgencivics.com or smt.

For those who are asking, I bought the car primarily for the naturally aspirated 4 cyl + dual clutch combination. I know that it won't be any sort of super high performance car. My plans for the car are a cold air intake, some mild exhaust modification and maybe a ktuner. Not going crazy with it.
As for potentially buying the wrong car, I like the drive train but the size is what I am having to struggle with. I probably should have waited for a TLX with the same drive train for the extra space.
The seat issue is something I've noticed post-purchase that is a bit annoying. See that thread for more info if interested.

I haven’t driven any of the new bmws since the e90s
I’m in Montreal on business this week and they gave me a 330i rental. This g20 drives quite nice but not as connected or precise as the old e90 or e46.
The styling is great and it handles Montreal pothole ridden roads quite well. Engine is torquey but not as good as the old in-line 6. Also sounds like a tinny, cheap 4 cylinder (because it is) and it lacks emotion.
340i would be much better I presume but this is ample power for the city. The car already has 50,000kms on it and it’s holding up pretty good to this rental abuse. No squeaks, no rattles. Pleather is still good but the paint is destroyed already.

Yes the paint is really really bad. Bmw used to have some thick ass paint on the e90 and my wife’s old 128i but this new stuff is horrible. I get it’s a rental car and they don’t take care of it, and it’s black so it’s soft, but 50,000kms and there’s basically no clear coat left. Some parts of the hood already is showing peeling and primer.
Oh and if you’re 6’2 like me, it turns into the same proportions as the LC and the back seats become a joke.

Not sure what it is but Quebec drivers/ cars are crazy, only a few year old cars are all rusty, they park like bumper cars, like bumpers touching each other on the streets |

Oh and if you’re 6’2 like me, it turns into the same proportions as the LC and the back seats become a joke. | The thickest paint in the world can't save it from being sanded down at the lot every other week for 2 years.
The whole space thing is annoying. I don't get how in Europe it's a mid size and great family car cause it's not. I drove a friend in my F80 and he's 6'1 and he had to push the seat all the way back and still wasn't the most comfortable. Are everyone in Europe under 6'? There's no way a 6' person would fit in the front seat with a car seat in the back.

Yeah that car has a sand and dirt filled brush rubbed on it every couple days. Nothing to do with the quality of paint.
