To be fair, we are probably the 8th owner or something.
Big ones were the wheel bearings, exhaust header, muffler, front shocks, water pump, thermostat, radiator, crank pulley bearing or whatever it’s called, oxygen sensor. Typical BMW stuff. Most work was done by my dad but the cooling system was at a shop and I think the exhaust header.
Short answer: Too much haha
Edit: Alternator and starter were rebuilt proactively while the water pump job was being done

Lots of work done to the E63 in the past few weeks - new engine mounts, transmission mount, spark plugs, valve cover gaskets, and coolant.
Keep thinking of excuses to drive it |

My dad is pissed.

Update #2: Turns out it was just a radiator hose clamp that got loose. Tightened up and all good.
Last drive of the year and season. So thankful for a beautiful day. Off to HK for the RS meet tomorrow.
Time to trade in the Boxster

Spotted this unicorn in Poco. That is an Oldsmobile Intrigue "Final 500" in excellent shape. The Final 500 series included the Alero, Bravada, Intrigue, Aurora and even the Silhouette (which itself was actually limited to 360).
Dark cherry metallic paint, chrome wheels with Final 500 center caps, Final 500 badges, decal on engine, two tone interior with embroidered front seats, Final 500 sill plates and floor mats, Final 500 owners pack.

What the heck is "neutral leather seating surfaces"? It's part of the $1115 Collector's Edition Package. The standard features already lists "leather seating surfaces".

Curious what it sounds and feels like to have both electric motor assist and a turbo. Must be pretty trippy that the truck is dead silent at every stoplight as well!

How are you finding the new Tundra? Have you had any issues with the Turbo's?
I have heard of 2 nightmares..
First is a 2023 Non Turbo Limited.. Head gasket leaking at 4000kms... required new block due to machining not being even, and then his Turbo went when he got it back. Got rid of it. Took Toyota 2 months to fix the truck.
Second - 2023 Tundra Hybrid, on it's 3rd engine now sitting at the dealer waiting. Not sure of the kms on this one.
Curious how the 2024 Hybrid Tacoma's will fair, best to wait a few years to let Toyota iron out the bugs.

Wow, looks like the older V8 tundras are the trucks to have.
It's not just toyota having head gaskets and turbo problems, they don't make them like they used to.

Must be pretty trippy that the truck is dead silent at every stoplight as well! | the iforce max is pretty pleasant to drive. raptor-like power but with better mpg and peace of mind. the electric assist makes up for any turbo lag, not that it has much. coming from majority of turbo cars ive had in the past, i got to say this is my favorite. other than the turbo whistle its hard to tell its turbo, instant torque and smother power delivery throughout the rpms.
the cabin is pretty well insulated for a truck, so all you really hear is the fake pumped in v8 sound from the speakers. from the outside the trd pro sounds... not bad... when on throttle. turbo whistle, very mild crackles from the trd catback exhaust. it idles, coast, creeps with the typical toyota hybrid sounds which throws off most people in parking lots. yes, the early 2022 had a few turbo related issues but most of them has been fixed on the 2023. but like most early new gens theres gonna be problems. im sure early 2nd gens had their problems before being called the bulletproof v8.
im sure it'll be fine haha its a toyota, and the iforce max in the new taco is already in another car. i cant remember which one, but im sure the bugs has been ironed out Quote:

Using the decision matrix from AutomotivePress/David Chao, should wait 'till MY2025 before buying.
And can't forget about supply chain issues = parts on back-order or they're going towards building new cars/trucks instead of repairs.
If I needed a fullsize pickup right now, I'd probably look for a used Titan.

curious to why you would choose a titan over a 2nd gen tundra or any of the big 3? i could be wrong, but isnt it the worst selling truck and thats why 2024 will be its last model year?!
i wouldnt call myself a truck guy, but for most truck buyers it all comes down to brand loyalty and nissan just doesnt have it.

top tip: find out what ISIS/X terrorist group has in their fleet and buy that. If it can survive being bombed and abused in the middle east, it can survive mall crawling in Canuckistan.

Taken any passengers yet? Are they appreciating the ease of ingress?

the gf was standing on them not realizing what she was standing on until i asked her whats new with the truck. i am appreciating how much easier it is to get in and out in tight parking spaces when i cant open the door as wide.

Not the latest shot that I would have hoped for but the rear glass on my RDX spontaneously shattered today while my wife was driving home from Richmond. It's a known problem that Acura American has a service bulletin for though I'm not sure if Acura Canada will cover it or not (I'm out of warranty).
I think this is going to be the last straw for us and this car - it's just been horribly unreliable in just 40,000km (3 sets of brakes, control arms replaced, blower motor replaced, rear hatch springs, pano room frame etc). Not sure what we're going to replace it with - was hoping to hold out long enough for an EV or a good PHEV. Maybe we'll get something used to tide us over.

Wow sorry to hear re the RDX. My Honda's been incredibly reliable, would've thought Acura would be even more solid.
+1 on Toyota / Lexus for god-tier reliability.
