Does the foam pre soak actually do anything though? I have been looking at getting one and have the same issue re pressure washer every single time, and question its actual effectiveness.

Lol, my buddies and I had that discussion too because people say pre-foam helps get most crud off when you rinse, but we find that a lot of stuff still requires the good old wash mitt. Maybe we're not washing our cars often enough.

The pre-foam helps loosen stuff I find, makes it easier to mitt wash. I still wash by hand afterwards.

Kinda like soaking your dishes.

Pre foaming only removes a layer of grime if the soap has a higher PH. If your soap is PH neutral (PH-7) , then foaming and rinsing won't do anything to lift the dirt. You would need to use something like Bilt Hamber touchless which has a PH-12 and will give you a panel impact ratio of 2-5% depending on dilution ratio and your GPM. Majority of the time, foaming is only good for added lubrication during the contact wash to reduce the likelihood of marring.

Bukkake recipe
1000PSI + 2GPM + 1.25mm orifice + 150ml soap + 750ml water

I KNOW THAT ALREADY why you gotta rub it in?

If you're going to do anything, at least rub it off.

Is hand carwashing even allowed in the GVRD anymore? Or did they impose laws to ban it?

Clarification: I am not in Vancouver

Every other week if I can get away with ONR + BRS. Takes me about half an hour which I tackle early weekend morning.

One car wash a week pretty much. It's more an excuse to put in a snus and have a glass of scotch alone than doing it cause I need to. Helps turn the brain off.

Scotch and Wash. My cars would probably be cleaner if I knew that trick.

im gonna go ahead and assume your car a ceramic coated, ya? do you use a special foaming soap? i tried using a foam cannon once with just some regular simoniz soap and the foam slid of pretty quickly. i ended up returning it and never tried again.

Nope, the car hasn’t been coated yet as I haven’t had the time to dedicate a whole weekend to doing it properly. I use either Adams car shampoo or Koch Chemie GSF. Both foam up great when combined with the pressure washer and the proper foam cannon orifice.

This is one of the main reasons I miss having a car, great way to turn off the brain and escape the chaos for an hour. The hunt continues…
