Ahhh... new year, new experiences, first Euro car.

JDMDreams 01-03-2023 11:56 PM

^^^ out of all euro cars why that one  looks preface lift and none AMG at all ..... Unless it's Mt :ahwow:

Badhobz 01-04-2023 07:01 AM

^i like the look of that generation c/e class (i cant even tell from the side). Its a interesting fusion of the boxy and reliable w124 and modern mercedes. too bad this one was notoriously unreliable.

bcrdukes 01-04-2023 07:57 AM

@Qmx323 - Details on the car, please! Looks amazing!

Qmx323 01-04-2023 11:15 AM

Facelift - Engine is basically rebuilt - new brakes - also it was a touch under $5K.

C230K auto - got tired of clutching in and out, also... I drove an Accord, things fast in a straight line but it handles like a boat. Modern enough but old enough to DIY.

Between this and a Corolla/Civic for even MORE? Hell no. Tail happy baby sedan yes please.

Slight oil seep at cam angle sensors but thats a 20 minute job. I was torn between this and E46, but also remembered riding in one down to Seattle... so.. much.. squeaking and bumping...

And as for the "Why u no AMG?" - This was a financial move. LOL trust me if I can run and afford an AMG, I'd have an AMG.

Sold my Accord lease for way more money than I could have anticipated. No more monthly payments since I don't even drive much, plus insurance is actually 10% less than the Accord.

If the experience with this one goes smoothly, I'd be on the lookout honestly for a C32 over the C55, something about superchargers I really enjoy. One can dream on. When its time for a high performance euro car, I'll know.

Thanks for sharing! I'm with Badhobz on this one. I have a soft spot for this generation of Mercedes Benz. My cousin has one and I still really like the overall design, interior, reliability in comparison to your examples of a Corolla/Civic, or hell, even an E46.

Ditto on the AMG. Do you really want or need an AMG given the rarity of them and also the additional and unnecessary premiums to insure and maintain a car of this caliber? I think the honest answer is no unless you ABSOLUTELY need to have an AMG model which from what I understand can be VERY expensive to maintain. This is an awesome buy!

Edit: I should mention that manual transmissions on Mercedes Benz sucks ass (at least in North America. I can't speak for RoW cars.) I test drove a rare C-class before getting my 996 and it was easily the worst manual transmission I've ever driven.

Edit 2: You gotta come out to a Stock & Noob meet with it sometime this year!

The first sweeping turn I took (big left turn to get from Van to Richmond / the miller/Russ baker intersection) - I fell in love. Feeling the rear end kinda just slightly break loose... goosebumps.

At the end of the day, I was looking for a balance of reliable/fun to drive/easy to maintain.

If I took an AMG through that corner. I might've fallen into the ditch, woulda been a great time though.

You've inspired me, Qmx323.

I'm going to have to find my "Vancouver car" given your example. I've been looking for an M car or another Porsche but I don't have the time to fly back and forth between Vancouver/Toronto to do PPis and shit like that. If I can find even a half decent example of what you have, I'd be happy.

Qmx323 01-04-2023 12:34 PM

Thanks dude, not gonna lie, some of y'all have definitely had incredible experiences with high performance Euro cars, I eagerly look forward to joining that echelon. Until then I will settle for blasting exhaust clips/Nürburgring videos on some nice headphones, LOL.

bcrdukes 01-04-2023 12:49 PM

My dick is small so I need to make up for it with a high performance Euro, although I think most Corollas are higher performance than what I have and currently own. And if high performance Euro means getting to the next red light or inching forward 2 meters in bumper to bumper traffic faster than the next guy, well, we would all need our heads checked. Enjoy the car in good health sir! :)

Everyone knows the only way to compensate is to get a lifted oversized truck
Bro

I know, and that's where I went wrong in life!

Badhobz 01-04-2023 01:26 PM

That or a fiat 500.

See you purposely get the smallest car so that other people think that you’re NOT overcompensating when in reality you are but with reverse psychology.

Whatever, we are Asian. Our women have small cunts to accommodate our smaller (relatively speaking) dicks. Don’t touch our women donk !!!! You’ll ruin them
