Was this the race Mclaren was suppose to be bringing a new car to? They were talking about a brand new car basically in Monaco. Very impressive results if this is the new car

Again making red bull and max so impressive as throughout any F1 season even during the dominance of LH etc. generally the top cars get shifted around a bit on varied tracks, one team has a car that works better on that track/day

RB has had almost none of that. I think Perez days are probably numbered once his contract is up

SkinnyPupp 06-03-2023 05:46 PM

Hire Alonso next year KEKW

StylinRed 06-04-2023 05:30 AM

The German the Chinaman and the J... Man from Japan ~Martin Brundle :lol

He had a hard pause there when he realises ppl are going to be fuming

Koflach 06-04-2023 10:02 AM

Wow, great race for both Merc drivers. Really surprised at how poor Ferrari, Alonso, & Norris did.

Classic Martin Brundle:lawl:

I was in shock when he said China man

sonick 06-04-2023 10:31 AM

Gutted for Yuki, Zhou totally had enough room but just made the mistake. They didn't touch and Yuki had the wheel at full lock he didn't push him wide.

If anything Ocon should've been investigated for the move hr pulled on Alonso

SkinnyPupp 06-04-2023 01:04 PM

Not saying anything about the race, but I did fall asleep until the last lap. No weather, no yellows, sounds like there was some passing here and there. Sounds like Mercedes had a good race, and Perez was kind of a flop again. LeClerc's Ferrari had to have been broken still

Broken car or broken pit crew?

:derp:

StylinRed 06-04-2023 06:01 PM

Charles needs to find another team

Stolen from Reddit:
Race summary:

- Norris breaks nose on Hamilton's firm rear.
- George Russell plays the "Sweat or Rain"-game and asks his race engineer daddy for compliments.
- Alfa Romeo forgets the FIA is listening.
- Verstappen: "Hard tires aren't really working". Gap to second: 3.5 hours.
- Leclerc wonders whether he could get a contract at a top team.
- Sainz transforms from Smooth Operator to Sitting Duck.
- Ocon almost needs to be snuck out of the country.
- Tsunoda gets in touch with his inner Kimi.
- Alonso challenges Lawrence Stroll for the position of Lance's true dad.

Wow, what a nice change in FP2 to see someone other than Red Bull in first at the end of the session. Due to a wet race and qualifying last year, you have to go back to FP2 in 2022 to get comparable lap times. In '22, Max was at the top after FP2 with a time of 1:14.1 and today Hamilton came in at 1:13.7 and Max set roughly the same time as last year. We could finally see some competition in a race for Red Bull this season!

Vancouver240sx 06-17-2023 07:45 PM

There is very little chance without a mechanical DNF Max won't take every race of the year.

Rich

TypeRNammer 06-17-2023 10:36 PM

Watching the whole qualifying session, it was Formula 1 drivers vs the rain, then there's Charles Leclerc vs Ferrari :lawl:

StylinRed 06-18-2023 02:17 PM

Albon getting dotd for cockblocking the grid is kind of amusing

Ferrari almost imploding but turns out their decisions panned out

Ricciardo in for Perez next year :lol

Alonnnsoooooo

sonick 06-18-2023 02:28 PM

Happy for Albon. Guys such a great character and interview.

Koflach 06-30-2023 08:04 AM

Time deleted for exceeding track limits...

sonick 06-30-2023 08:33 AM

Seems like track limits gets worse and worse each year here. Dunno why, the track stays the same lol.

McLaren's upgrades seem to be the real deal. Happy for Lando to have something to be optimistic about.

Russell and Checo continually being owned by their teammate. The shine on George is fading.

Albon with another Q3! Could've gotten decent position too if it weren't for track limits.

HonestTea 06-30-2023 03:53 PM

Checo can't get out of Q2 AGAIN

Unquick Nyck is gonna be out after the Summer break lol

Hondaracer 06-30-2023 05:01 PM

Checo suckssssss

Devries is a joke too, Sargent and Piastri albeit not seeing results but going about their business and driving fairly solid. De vries after being so cocky can’t even touch Tsunoda

Could it be that the cars are getting just quicker every year? So when they push right to the limit, they're more prone to exceeding the track limits as they're just getting more and more speed into the corners

I thought the last gen cars were actually faster than this generation, due to the weight and size of the new cars?

Anyway fantastic sprint race, one of the best I've seen.

Not sure if Alonso was taking it easy to avoid an incident but Stroll defended well.

Hulkenberg hung in there as long as he could for 2nd but that Haas just destroys it's tires. At least points!

Hondaracer 07-01-2023 12:10 PM

Max 20+ seconds ahead in a 24 lap sprint, crazy

de vries is overhyped because he got into the points with the williams in that one race last year, he was originally written off by RB for a reason, I guess he got his chance finally at least

A fatality at the Spa race track :QQ:

It was under wet conditions too.

EDIT: junior Formula race

SkinnyPupp 07-01-2023 09:43 PM

That sprint was fun as hell! I hope the actual race is even half as good
