Well my shitty streams all decided to crap out at exactly the wrong time, so I have no idea what happened.. Other than Alonso is out and the Alpine drivers took each other out

We're waiting to see if that counted as a lap.. If not, Alonso finishes third. If it counted, then he is 11th

Race will be restarted and finished for the final lap under safety car in their original positions from my understanding based on the Crofty commentary

What a crazy crazy race.

First felt really bad for Russell losing the P2 for the pit stop gamble, but turns out his car wouldn't have made it anyways so...

Then that final lap. WOWOW what an absolute mess. Tough spot for the FIA to be in. End it under safety car and people will complain its boring and too safe. End it with a red, and rolling start and people will say you're making up rules again, end it with the standing start and the drivers all just go YOLO and this is what we got.

Sucks for Sainz, I know the 5s penalty would be normal for causing the collision but wouldn't be nearly as devastating had it been not given it was the last lap on a safety car... 5 grid penalty instead? Maybe more appropriate? Think we just witnessed history regardless, people going to be talking about this one like Abu Dhabi for quite some time.

Especially with the 1 month break until Baku, this will be grabbing attention for awhile, especially from all the new fans

The TSN broadcast was super choppy and once the crashes happened they just kinda cut to the cars back in the pit

Yes because they didn't pass the first sector, it gets reset to previous positions from what I understand. Much like the Zhou accident from silverstone last year.
