its not worth it for me at double the price, but it is a huge upgrade in terms of comfort, especially on a large plane that has at least 4 classes. premium economy on a big plane is like business class on a small plane. separate chairs, or if the chairs are connected then the armrests are so wide that you don't bump each other, and plenty of legroom and space to recline. also the food is better.

as much as i absolutely hate flying due to the randomness of getting inconsiderate people sitting next to me, i still wouldnt pay $2k for this convenience when i could spend it on a nicer hotel, splurge more on food, spend more on shopping, etc...

If it's 50% more, and not AC flight, I'd consider it for sure. But not for double the price. I've flown a few times on PE long haul with CX, always feel fresh when I land, not groggy and tired like shit. Although I used my points to upgrade. I absolutely hate AC, worst service and airline in the fucking world. Everytime I take AC, always some shit ass issue.
