Any shops with aftermarket seats on display?

Considering an aftermarket seat upgrade. Something like a Recaro but looking for daily driveable comfort. Would like to know if there are any shops around that have seats on display that I could sit in, size up and potentially have installed. Hesitant to spend $2k+ on a seat sight unseen.

Driver's Edge on Boundary but only carries OMP

or

425 Motorsports in Kirkland, WA. It's a huge aftermarket seat dealer (Sparco, OMP, Recaro, etc). All the seats are out on the floor and you can try them all.

If you want comfort, stay OEM lol.

After-market seats are usually horrid unless they were built for OEM like Recaro Porshe seats or something.

If you have a commute longer than 10 mins, stay with OEM seats LOL. Or as mentioned in the other thread, go get yourself some Civic Si seats if you want more bolstering.

The Type R seats are great, but I'd pick the 5 series seats over it anyday of my shitty commute

Really? Unless the 5er had massaging seats I don't think it's that big of a comfort boost vs the FK8 seats

I drove my friend's RX7 sitting on a homdepot bucket. The bucket tipped over and I almost crashed it in the school parking lot.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone.

I am considering a replacement seat because the oem seating position is not ideal. I'm 6' and with the OEM seat all the way down in its lowest position my hair brushes the ceiling. I'd like the seat to be lower. I have been looking up seats and some of them look reasonably comfortable in pictures. I was thinking about something like the Recaro Expert M or L.

This is why I was thinking of trying before buying. Recaro supposedly has a line of "comfort" seats but that can be very subjective, I agree.

If you are willing to cross the border, 425 Motorsports has a selection in their showroom. In one pic I can almost make out the exact seat that you have identified.

You could also shave the foam on your stock seat's cushion.

Alternatively there might be some super low seat rails that you can use

It's pob way cheaper to get some foam taken out or have someone make u lower rails. A nice aftermarket seat is thousands and you're going to lose side airbags and it's gonna throw Christmas lights.

The "Planted" brand of seat rails comes to mind. Aside from the seat itself, you are practically sitting on the floorboard.

I think his seat probably has the heated option and you can't just cut foam out.

You can, it's usually just a pad/element on the top, you can shave the bottom.

It was quite a few years back, but when I was looking into aftermarket seats almost none of the "street" seats had any kind of crash/strength/safety/etc testing done. And anything certified for a track is going to be pretty uncomfortable and probably designed with the assumption that it'll be used with a harness and HANS, not a stock belt.
