It doesn't look like much contact was made between Petgrave and Johhson's teammate moments prior. So it's very questionable how/why Petgrave even lost balance like that to initial his skate rising up like that.
I've read up a bit more on this guy, he's known to have done dirty things before involving lifting his skates, and he also lead the EIHL last season with the most PIM.  | |

I have played hockey for 20+ years including Jr A... I have never ever seen the movement of his foot like that before after a hit and I've seen lots of hits of people getting rocked and hurt. when you are that experienced and are on the ice you have full control and what happened isn't just an accident.

Horvat faced many dark days, dark seasons as a Canucks captain.
Did he make a careless response to the Islanders PR team about his time in Vancouver? Absolutely.
I think his comments about Vancouver are about the management. -about the way management treated him. Bo got the impression that his contract would be extended. Management was not being upfront and honest with him?
I know, I know. The team couldn't afford to sign him. -needed to clear cap space in order to sign a better D-man. right hand shot.
Canucks management chose to extend the contract of Miller or Bo.
Having said that, I really don't think that Bo said those things about Vancouver to disrespect the team or the fans.
What matters the most is what Bo's former team mates think about him as a man:
-from McIntyre's article. Miller said he was not going to "dip my toe in that basket" when asked what should be the fans’ reaction to Horvat on Wednesday.
"No matter what happens... in the room we all know the kind of guy he is,” Miller said. "He's a really good teammate. At the end of the day, I can't really say much more about a guy. It's going to be good to see him and we expect him to be flying, that's for sure." "I think people should welcome him and celebrate him on his return," Canucks defenceman Quinn Hughes, Horvat’s successor as captain, said after Tuesday’s practice. "He put in nine really good years here and he was always solid, never complained. He was a great leader... someone that everyone could kind of go to if they needed to talk to someone. It wasn't always the easiest years and he always stepped right in front of it. So, yeah, he should be welcomed, celebrated."

There's really no reason to boo Horvat.
The only "animosity" was from that comment that was misinterpreted and overblown, which he has also clarified.
