Expectations changed for a lot of fans when the Canucks are sitting near top of the league for most of the season. They definitely aren't a contender yet. I say 2nd round at best.
Well, between the cap going up next year by $4M coinciding with Kuzmenko's last year of his contact not being here anymore, Myers done (or possibly re-signed for very little $) and, likely at this point, Hronek, Lindholm and apparently Zadorov all not returning... we are going to have over $25M more to play with next season. A portion of that will probably go to the Joshua's and Blueger's of the world... and someone to replace Hronek... but between those signings, development in Abbotsford and maybe a couple of FA's here and there, we should be in good shape.
Mikheyev and his $4.75M is a big sore point I see and we are stuck with that for 2 more seasons after this one. I like some of his game but his shot is just brutal, zero weight on it and he's at LEAST $3M overpaid at this point.

I don’t think anyone here is this dumb, but this is for the crowd who say Canucks tickets are so expensive!! I can fly somewhere else and go see them cheaper!!
This is $100 USD at T mobile arena

There is no way that Hronek is leaving after this year. He is RFA and they will get him signed one way or another.
Because he's RFA, he can go to arbitration, which is not in the team's favor. He can absolutely get a higher number (at less years) that way. If the team and him cannot come to an agreement, they absolutely need to trade his rights instead of letting it go to arbitration.
With cap constraints will this team be better or worse in a couple more years?
I would say nobody knows, because it won't be the same team. Almost half the Canucks are UFA or RFA for next season. Then for 2025/26 season it's a blank sheet.
^ reminds me of Vanc and Calgary, when Bieska took the face off. And Torts blew a fuse almost popped a vein.
Was the above the same, visiting team starts with their 4th/gooney line?
I don't think DeSmith is playing terribly (I didn't watch the game last night so idk how he really played) but they should ride Silovs until Demko comes back. He's played very well so far. Maybe that'll spark some life for the rest of the team lol.
Vegas is really cooking right now... hitting their stride even with some main guys not producing a whole lot of points, be rolling by playoffs just in time for the return of Mark Stone
looking at what's left for Game 1 tickets, it would appear the game is almost entirely sold out save for a few seats here and there. Everything else is people trying to re-sell for profit. The row behind me is looking for $560-$660+ lol.

Most likely worse. We overachieved in the first half of the year and we will have massive holes to fill for next year. We essentially need to replace half of the bottom 6 and at least half of our D.
