Recovering the missing Titan submersible and bringing its crew to safety in time using the latest advanced deep-sea rescue equipment would be an extremely difficult task, an expert has said.
Even if Titan is located, a successful rescue would require remote-controlled vehicles (ROVs) capable of allowing operators on the surface a clear view of the submersible’s location, any obstacles that may be present and where to attach cables capable of lifting it thousands of metres through the water.
If the Titan and its five-person crew did arrive at the Titanic wreck, they will be located 3,800 metres (12,500ft) below the surface on the seabed – too deep for most ROVs to reach. Only a “tiny percentage of the world’s submarines operate that deeply”, David Marquet, a former US Navy submarine commander, told CBC.
If you’re just joining us and looking to catch up on the technical challenges that face rescuers attempting to reach the sub, read the full report here:

Though authorities and those involved in the hunt for the Titan submersible, the challenges should not be underestimated.
The area of ocean where the vessel is lost is remote and rugged – and the wreck of the Titanic lies roughly 3700m below sea level.
If that is hard to conceptualise, this illustrated video captures the scale of the challenge.
Wendy Rush, who is married to Stockton Rush, Ceo of OceanGate and pilot aboard the Titan submersible, is also a descendent of a couple who lost their lives aboard the famed ship.
The New York Times reports that Rush is the great-great-granddaughter of Isidor and Ida Straus, two first-class passengers who were aboard the Titanic when it went down in 1912.
The couple were among the Titanic’s wealthiest passengers. Isidor and his brother co-owned a Macy’s department store.
Survivors reported watching Isidor refuse a seat on a life raft to allow women and children to get on board. Ida chose to remain with him. The scene was recreated in the film dramatisation of the disaster.
Wendy nee Hollings Weil married Stockton Rush in 1986.
She is also the communications director at OceanGate and has personally visited the Titanic wreck three times.
It’s kinda funny the contrast of when that Russian sub got stuck at the bottom and every country in the world was trying to do somthing. Send their condolences etc.
When it’s a home made tube with a bunch of billionaires everyone just makes memes and changes the channel lol
Typical stupid rich guy shit and they paid the price. Wtf is the point of going down there to look through a computer monitor. Do you really love the titanic that much or you’re just some knob running out of things to do

total knob man. like seriously you cant even see jack shit sitting inside that stupid tube
and whatever you are seeing, its probably through an LCD. Then you might as well go watch James Cameron titanic documentary.
why are we wasting tax payer dollars even searching for these idiots. Send the bill to their estates

Good article about some rich people who like "extreme" tourism.
Extreme tourism has become a growing trend among thrill-seekers looking for an adrenaline rush, pushing the boundaries of conventional travel and, sometimes, of safe travel. OceanGate Expeditions, for example, is among several companies that cater to demand from private individuals wanting to explore the seas and even the seemingly unreachable depths of the worldÂ’s oceans.
“What I’ve seen with the ultra-rich – money is no object when it comes to experiences. They want something they they’ll never forget,” said Nick D’Annunzio, the owner of TARA, Ink., a public relations firm specializing in special events.
For some rich people, perhaps it is the ability to experience something that few people have experienced before.
They want an unforgettable experience.
Oh I believe that part about the unforgettable experience for sure for those 5 people in this Titan sub.
They will never ever forget about this experience. The sad part about this experience is that those five rich people will not live to talk about this experience with other people.
Honestly, If I had the money I would much rather spend it on a Porsche ICE experience in northern Finland. -learn how to drift in a Porsche in winter weather conditions.
-much cheaper and probably safer than trying to go down 19 thousand feet under water in a submersible to look at a shipwreck.
What about space tourism? The rocket ship experience in that Blue Origin rocket module? Just gotta pay millions to take a space trip in a flying dildo.

They likely did those activities some time ago. If someone's willing to go to such extreme depths to see the Titanic then I imagine they've already checked off a ton of other activities most of us cannot imagine. A Porsche ICE experience in Finland is probably a Tuesday activity for them.
Paying for 6-figure events like this are probably equivalent to us choosing a flavor of chips at a grocery store at their wealth level.
I think it's more likely that this thing imploded as it was decending, especially if this debris field thing is true. Fortunately for them they wouldn't have felt anything, their deaths would have been quick.

-sounds like that the Titan sub imploded:
Debris found on ocean floor has been assessed to be from the external body of the Titan sub
From CNN's Priscilla Alvarez
The debris discovered within the search area of the missing Titanic submersible has been assessed to be from the external body of the sub, according to a memo reviewed by CNN.
The search for the crew capsule of the Titan vessel continues, the memo says.
The debris was located on the ocean floor, roughly 500 meters (about a third of a mile) off of the bow of the Titanic, and it was found around 8:55 a.m. ET.
It was discovered by a remotely operated vehicle that was searching the seafloor, according to the US Coast Guard.
I only get turned on by professional whores where whoring is their profession. Not whores who are professionals. yuck, that means I have to actually listen to the shit that comes out of their mouth.
Yeah as crappy as it is for them this was best case scenario since they wouldn't have been able to be rescued in time and they'd just have to sit there for days waiting for death.
Time for law suit? Maybe the Chinese blew it up jk. Yea sad, really hoped they'd make it.
I've said it before but I'm waiting for Elon clone dinosaur's if he threw a billion or two at it I'm sure we'll get there. I'd sure love to visit Jurassic Park and hopefully not get eaten.

Millionaires > Migrants
Did you know, last week, a boat holding almost 500 refugees sank off the coast of Greece? …AND this week, on almost EVERY news platform (visual, editorial and vocal) we have also been made aware of the 5 missing wealthy tourists seeking adventure at the wreckage of the Titanic. Both tragic, but guess which one is getting hour to hour coverage?
As I mentioned, both are extremely tragic circumstances and hope there can be a resolution for comfort to those having lost loved ones and strength to those living with fear and in hope. But I can’t seem to get my head around why in such circumstances, an alert just after 8 hours to authorites was made with both rescue teams, navies and air forces all in to find this missing submarine carrying these 5 tourists.
Yet 15 hours BEFORE the refugee boat sank an alert was also made. Now, with hundreds missing and many dead, not much coverage has transpired from this… and if I can be brutally honest, it’s evident the world doesn’t think the lives of these refugees are worth the same as those with wealth on their side. Both the refugees and the tourists set out on sea knowing the circumstances of “what could be”… where one group are seeking refuge away from their countries poor regime; war crimes and other means resulting for a better life away; the other group signed a waiver for a staggering $250,000 for the thrill of seeing a wreckage.
Double standards. Both the hundreds of refugees and the five wealthy tourists do NOT deserve to be in such traumatic and tragic circumstances and hope there can be some resolution but PLEASE let us not get sucked into what society wants to feed us, leaving behind the OTHER things that really matter…
Refugee stories like this get neglected and left to die and it showcases that very little has changed. As I started this caption, Millionaires over Migrants …let that sink in… SMH.
