Just cuz it's a premium looking dude staring at an LC500 with disturbingly aggressive desire in their eyes? Yeah ok I see it too.

| Did you sell your GS-F to a girl? I often see a girl in Richmond driving a black GS-F with orange calipers and I think that's what yours was?

How in the name of god do you order a 100k+ car and then fail to finance the last sec.
Bro had no idea the bank wouldn't loan him coin on 120k and had to sell some pokemon cards on FB and put down 10k?

i honestly dont know. it was an old white dude apparently and he already threw down a big deposit but still couldnt qualify. I think the rates at that time was around 5% (vs the 8% now) for financing and lease.
I still feel bad about it, i mean if i was that dude id probably be super pissed.

quite right. But if i were to order a car, wait like 1year + and then have to give it up at the last fucking gasp due to interest rate changes, i would probably end up putting my head through a drywall.

The only one I've seen so far with a girl behind the wheel regularly is a blue one. Quote:

I still feel bad about it, i mean if i was that dude id probably be super pissed. | I believe the bar for Toyota / Lexus financing is higher than most other OEMs, but they're generally lenient as long as your credit is good with a healthy debt-to-income ratio. The dealer must've explored other credit providers before giving up on the sale, so I don't feel bad for the guy if they all passed on him. He's better off without the car at that point. Quote:

Oh wow yah... I've seen it 3 times the past couple months in my area of Richmond and it's a girl/woman driving it each time.
Admiring... love the combo. Would like one, but the $60k+ price tag is unreasonable to me for what it is.

Admiring... love the combo. Would like one, but the $60k+ price tag is unreasonable to me for what it is. | The RC-Fs are close enough and prices on those are dropping. They're not at COVID prices yet ($50k with ~40k km iirc), but it should get there if market continues to cool with rising gas prices. It's not as rare as the GS-F but it's largely the same car with mostly the same experience.

I still feel bad about it, i mean if i was that dude id probably be super pissed. | Here's what happened. Probably.
[camera pans across a sun-lit Vancouver skyline]
[zoom into a downtown office tower, through a window, down onto a man typing away at his desk]
Karl M. Davis is 68 years old. He's an attorney. A senior partner at the firm.
[desk phone rings]
Karl picks up.
"Karl you fucken asshole, where are you!"
"Barbara. Please. I am unavailable."
Barbara is Karl's wife of 40 years. She's with the divorce attorneys because she has had enough.
"Karl if you don't show up in 5 minutes I'm taking you for everything you have."
Karl knows there is nothing to take. He works three jobs. He performs unlicensed surgeries behind the building by evenings, and operates a fish farm by weekend.
The phone rings again. It's his son, Roger.
"Karl."
"Father, I am calling you to let you know I have notified the authorities."
"Roger."
"Father. Of your fraud."
"Roger?"
"Father."
[camera zooms close-up, into Karl's face. he's in tears.]
He has been exposed. Writing fake checks in his son's name trying to cover his habit.
His car habit.
[scene cuts to Karl. in bed]
Karl awakes with a start, face beaded with sweat. It was a dream. None of that happened, because -
[scene cuts to a premium looking asian dude]
Fucken guy bought Karl's LC500 out from under him yesterday.
Let's summarize:
-You saved this old man's marriage
-You saved this old man's retirement funds
-You saved this old man's relationship with his only fucken son, Roger, and that's all that mattered to him.
Feel better!

2007 Land Rover LR3 V8 SE
against better judgement i decided to give LR a go... and yikes!
pros: 7 passenger stadium seating with raised roof for extra head room. 3 sunroofs, this was before panoramic sunroof was a thing. split tailgate. tons of off roading modes
cons: reliability and mpg.
how it drove: like it looks, a brick. even with the v8 was pretty gutless and felt like it was going to flip at speed.
what went wrong: 2 air suspension related problem. air compressor went out and level sensor was wonky, towards the end of my ownership i came out to a different ride height everyday. over heated, water pump and thermostat replaced. leaky sunroof/drains easily clogged which lead to the doors not locking and unlocking.
i was looking at the current gen defender when i was car shopping but couldnt pull the trigger on one at the end of the day. |

Did you go to any of those Land Rover owner off-roading events? Or owner events in general? Is it a particular crowd?
I always imagine it's affluent tomb-raider style travel-adventure folks like these: https://youtu.be/HLNEyQDatTI?si=p5zq6HtOf-8Nixej
