CTR flies through the air with the greatest of ease though

I'm tempted to do one of these... or a few of these... but I've owned so many friggin cars with so many whack stories I don't even know where to start.

You should start your own YouTube channel or blog. I would imagine the amount of stories, trials, and tribulations you have from your car ownership would allow you to retire early flush with cash.

Noise insulation.

Tbh most CTR reviews you'll hear is full of crap as a true dual duty car because no one (aside from me) actually does it. For most people, it's their 2nd or 3rd car.

Does the Integra Type-S have more noise insulation?

Ahh. The Integra Type-S is making more sense to me now, to address that gap.

Hah posts crossed. I remember seeing a SavageGeese video talking about this kind of use case: folks wanting the CTR performance and finding daily livability in the ITS.

Is it a marketing issue though that people are going to have to "settle" for "just" a Type-S at that price point? We're conditioned to think that "S" is lesser than "R". Even if Acura says all day long "nono it's not worse or better, it's two different concepts entirely", we have all the history as well as marketing from contemporary other brands.

Should've picked a different letter. How about G. Integra Type-G.

To be honest for me, all my are at least 20 years old, even a CTR probably seems like a luxury sedan inside to me lol

Interested to read your take on the FK8 if you write one - there's a lot of noise on these to get a good read on long-term ownership thoughts. I get the impression from owners online that they like the car for the hype and style rather than appreciating the car for its abilities.

2003 and 2004 Z4 3.0

Car was so good had to buy a second one years later

Length of ownership
About a year on both

kms / price
90k - 9500$
And 160k -also 9500$ (5 years later maybe)

The good
-Falls in the top 3 cars that I have ever owned.
-The massive hood in your view, you can feel the power before you even start the car.
-Luxury interior for the year it was, most of my other cars in this age were pretty cheap/basic lookin.
-Low end torque was a new feeling for me, this was also the first "fast" car I had that was a convertible. I remember getting sucked into the seat during the test drive, and was instantly sold.
-No major repairs, then again, I don't own my cars for very long
-Heated seats
-This car is a road monster, would grip corners so well.

The bad
-Starter motor failed in both cars, I remember using a rock on both cars to start it - my suspicions after taking it apart
Spoiler!

-Roof motors are notorious for failing on these cars, but only because owners never clear the drain, and or don't properly clear the drains. Due to a design flaw from BMW.
-Then the car amp dies because it floods the trunk, and the trunk does not have a drain. Removed the roof on both my cars, to inspect the motor, one as a preventative measure, and the second because it actually died.
Spoiler!

-Prices for parts are batshit expensive. (I was useto like 150$ starters, Honda level pricing you know). Amp = 1300$ used, starter 850$ new, used/reman starter 350$, roof motor, 950$ new. BMW and Mercedes are rich people cars.
-Not many mods available other than wheels honestly.

The awesome
-Having driven a fair amount of convertibles, this car simply tops the rest, price/power/features/experience wise.
-Many tanks of gas were burned driving sea to sky on late nights and weekends, 10/10 worth it.
-All the empty Port Coquitlam shipping docks that had endless donut marks from both of these cars, too bad it was always a one wheel mark.

Would I buy one again?
-Oh hell yes, if I did not find my current C7, I was heavily considering a Z4M convertible at the time. Maybe one day......
-Someone on here has a Z4M, they should relay their experience with it.

was the z4 as "snappy" as the s2k? cuz the s2k when VTTTEECCC kicked in, a lot of guys goes into low orbit and spin like a top (also no traction control on the ap1's so that probably has something to do with it).

Someone who has driven both for a long time can answer that, but that ain't me.

I can only say the s2000 felt slow in comparison on my test drive

The roof motor can be replaced without taking off the roof. The pump motor itself is like $65 dollars on Amazon, all you need to do is remove the old bracket/pump and put it on the new one.

I just did one last summer, took 1hr.

https://www.amazon.ca/DIPMOTOR-Conve...zcF9hdGY&psc=1

The E85 Z4 2.5 and 3.0 i/Si is by far my fav convertible. The motor is a real gem, and the car is classy as hell.

Srippy and sporty but definitely on the soft side compared to a real sports car. Muted steering, but the hood doubles as a mirror.

The second car I "peeled" off the rear while still attached to the car, it defs did not take an hr, more like 4hrs from start to finish.

Your telling me you fit your hand behind the driver's seat into the pump well, and removed it right there? I tried that, not possible.... Maybe if someone removed it in the past, and just left it dangling without all the zip ties in place. And it failed again on you

Issue with the above method, is also you have no idea if the drain is still clogged, you replace the motor, without addressing the main issue

Il hire you next time

Yeah that's exactly what I did, I stuck my entire arm back there with a tiny razor and cut.broke the straps holding the little cup down. Actually relocated the motor to inside the trunk so it doesn't get flooded again and just vaced out the hole. Seems like a lot of people do this "mod".

There was no way in hell I was going to take off the top. I have it mounted just behind the little plastic fascia behind the parcle tray.
