Price: not cheap, considering this pile of garbage was 22k back in 2001 The corollas were around there, i think 24k but the lease rates in 2001 was too high. My family couldnt afford it, so they went with the VALUE option. To my great protest.

It finally blew up at 200k on the clock. During that time it went through 4 catalytic converters, 2 valve covers, an ECU (rotted out?!), and numerous rotors and brakes. That nissan dealership was making a fortune off my already destitute parents.

They traded that POS in for 1000 bucks and promptly leased another sentra. i was away in the states for school at the time so i couldnt stop their maddness, but my god are they ever retarded. Luckily after that other sentra was done, i bought them a Lexus RX400h which they still drive to this day.

A beige on beige B15 Sentra has to be the most NPC car imaginable lol. I'd pick the green CRV too.

The rest of the XE / GXE only got the qg18de a horseshit engine made with recycled pop cans and screwed together by Juan Miguel Sanchez with the upmost care. I think they used guacamole as sealant because those valve covers sure as shit didn’t hold

Initial D was already a hit in Asia. In N.America at least, anime was really rather quite niche even around (year) 2000, and I feel like mainstream society still viewed anime with a tiny bit of the geekiness / otaku type of stigma, although it was already much better than the early and mid 90's.

I had the same Sentra in the same champagne gold with I think the same scuff mark on the front bumper. Except mine was the GXE trim so I had electric windows. I threw in 2 12" subs in the trunk that took up all the trunk space cuz why not. Rocked the same plastic wheel covers too.

I remember wanting to buy a used Prelude instead but Asian families didn't believe in buying second hand cars. I had an opportunity to buy a Spec-V around the time lock down started for nostalgia but ultimately went a different route. It's probably better to leave the Sentra as a distant memory.
