I have never owned a CVT before, but those Uber XL uses 2.5 and it's damn smooth. I dont get why the 3.5 used 6spd.

If I am not wrong, the newer CVT should have launch gear.

I've only experienced it briefly in gs450h, ls600h, but those are different animals. I've had the most seat time in newer Corolla courtesy cars and they are ok. The engine is pretty loud and kind rubber bands with lag. But it's pretty cool to see it cruise at like 1500 rpm on the highway.

^thats cuz you see these everyday. Us North American chumps don’t get this.

At 110k gbp that’s 200k Canadian. I’d still buy it.

I find usually GBP MSRP translates roughly back to USD, so that's probably around 130k CAD if they do bring it. It'll be rare if they do cause not many ppl will dish out 130k for a minivan.

Badhobz 03-09-2024 11:02 AM

130k ?!?!? Why not buy 2 ?!

20 series Alphard should have LHD in Taiwan and China, and some RHD have already reached 15yrs. Could look it up as they are very cheap in Asia.

If you want VIP seats, alibaba has lot of replica LM seats and partition.

Alphard and Vellfire are known to flip over easily. My dad flipped one 10 yrs ago and got badly injured.

Badhobz 03-10-2024 07:08 PM

Really ?!? Holy shit. I always thought those jdm vans looked a bit too tall and tipsy. Especially that delica space van.

Akinari 03-11-2024 01:11 PM

Even in Japan, these cars are mainly driven by Northeast Chinese airport pickup drivers who camp in the fast lane doing 10 under the speed limit and pissing everyone off so...

I personally don't have any friends with families living in Japan who drive Alphards/Vellfires. They either just drive kei vans or Fit shuttles or whatever. They're mostly made to be driven around in, in luxury, not anything that is popular in North America.

JDMDreams 03-11-2024 01:15 PM

Just lower it and add some spacers, wider wheels

This video is showing 55km/h, but my dad's accident was under 30km/h

Badhobz 03-16-2024 05:08 AM

Omg. What a fucking death trap. Thanks for posting that.

Now I don’t really want one anymore.

bcrdukes 03-16-2024 09:54 AM

I would happily die in one of these. Bring them, please.
