No pricing yet, but it takes about 30% of the bed. Pic can be seen on Tesla's city.
Last pic of the carousel at the bottom of the CT page.
Yeah I read on Reddit that they found 16k in the source code but that could be bullshit. Either way it's a horrible way to get extended range.
I also watched the highlights of the event and man, the baseball against the window was so fucking cringe, at least get someone who doesn't throw like a pussy to do it.
Now where can I pre order a Dakar? Tesla is first come first served. Porsche is all about who you know and how many cars you have bought.
I'm aware you CAN pre-order a CT, but I feel like it's no difference when you can't get something for 4-5 years or not at all... might as well be not at all. the world changes a lot in 4-5 years.
Sonick is a genius. I won't go into detail what's so great about his post. But it's damn good!

God damn based on the glass roof and interior shots it looks very spacious. There's so much new technology, steer by wire, 48v electrical. I've never wanted a pick up truck this much before
I'm just happy to see this truck finally being delivered and staying (mostly) true to its original design. Wonder when the stores will have units for us to touch and feel one..
EDIT: a lot more detail is shared in the Carmudgeon Hagerty podcast
yeah this wasn't designed to be just another pick-up like the lightning, it seems like finally a disrupter to the establishment and to people saying it's ugly lol like the modern f150 or silverado is beautiful

at the new price the waitlist will thin out in 2 years or less
i already got my deposit back (i think i signed up that night it went live), even with the association with elon i think the free loan a lot of people gave seems to have been worth it for all these new tech
im interested at the old price, 15-20% smaller in dimensions (if possible to still deliver 300 miles) and once production kinks have been ironed out
i gottta give it to batshit crazy Elon for one thing, he is quite singular to his vision. All his hairbrained ideas he puts most of it into reality for better or worse.
Space X? sure
Boring a tunnel that nobody uses? yup
This ugly turd truck that looks like a fridge? do it!!!
Props to him for not caving to public/peer pressure and sticking with his guns.
the strength of that stainless steel is fucking insane. Cant be dented, acts as a side impact beam, bulletproof, etc. jesus christ.
This might be the breakthrough material that makes other carmakers sit up and takes notes (again). he's such an industry disturber its not even funny.

I think the poiont Jason made in the video is important... the X came out and was unwieldy to build and excessive... and then they brought out the Y and it's their best selling vehicle.
I think there will be a second version of the Cybetruck that comes out and is more conventional at some point and that will be the one to get.
Still not for me, though I can appreciate some of the design engineering done.
Those quarter panels in the front looks like they are ready to cut someone's arm off. Also, the interior would drive me insane. Everything including the rear view mirror is on the screen?

Uh.. what? This whole thing is form over function. The whole challenge was to make something that looked like this actually work. This is an engineer's nightmare. If they can produce this at volume and make money at it, then they certainly will have earned their due.
That's the thing, they didn't choose the easy way like other oems and use off the shelf parts. They designed the car from ground up, trying to reinvent the truck. They could have just made a aluminum car like everyone else, carbon but they didn't. They didn't have to make it dent proof, they didn't have to go 48v, they didn't need shatter proof glass, steer by wire, but they did, and it puts it leagues above the others that used conventional tech. And it's all engineered and made in house. Kinda like bat shit crazy konessugigggs if they don't have the tech, they invent it themselves.

then even more impressive to get drag coefficient down to compete with mclaren
+1 to see volume production

yes once they get the tooling costs down, would be interesting to keep the controversial shape and structural panels lol
