Yeah it's way more practical to get a $150k 2 seater sports car lol

Hondaracer 10-16-2023 12:59 PM

Not to mention that Badhobz car probably sucks back more gas then a 5.0 coyote lol

This truck “hate” or distaste for trucks, is it because trucks are “big” ?

Because both my buddies new 2.7 eco boost as well as the newer 3.6 eco boost are getting 1000 kms per tank at about $200 a fill up. So they aren’t worse than many cars on the road right now. So people don’t like trucks because they are big?

The new F150 Lariat interior SHITS on -anything- from Toyota, Honda, Tesla, etc. hell, it’s even far nicer than Rivian imo. like night and day how nice their interiors are

Badhobz 10-16-2023 01:52 PM

I don’t hate trucks at all. I totally get it. I drove a taco around Seattle for a rental and was in love.

I can’t justify it. Sports cars are easy to justify. More expensive sports car = larger the pee pee. I thought everyone knew that.

JDMDreams 10-16-2023 01:52 PM

Truck I can afford

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...ibextid=2JQ9oc

Kinda want, but I would want an enclosed canopy so people don't just grab shit and steal. More than enough for bikes, Costco toilet paper, wheels, engines :considered:

JDMDreams 10-16-2023 01:52 PM

Bigger the truck the smaller the pee pee :QQ:

I saw this 5’1 dude come out of a f250 once. He jacked it up and literally had to hop down 3 feet just to disembark.

I don’t know what’s more embarrassing, the truck or the dude driving it.

Not you but other people here seem to dislike trucks because they are big or Theres a perception that it’s like a red neck thing to drive a regular half ton pickup? Lol I don’t get it

MarkyMark 10-16-2023 03:20 PM

I think the jacked up diesels on 37's are what people think about when 'trucks' are brought up, but a regular half ton 4x4 with snowflake all terrains will be way more useful than most vehicles on the road all year round.

For me trucks are boring to drive because their size kills any feeling of speed and the driving dynamics are extremely bland. I've done a fair number of long drives on Albertan highways in crappy F150s feeling like I'm only going 50 for hours on end and it was miserable. Fuel economy has improved but consumables like tires are still more expensive. Winter performance is worse than an SUV. Visibility when driving isn't very good. They can't fit in my garage so I'd have to work on everything in the driveway. And anything I'd put in the bed I can put somewhere else more easily anyways.

For other people because modern trucks are so bloated they can't see anything so they drive like idiots. They don't fit into lots of parking spaces so they're constantly sticking out blocks the road in parking lots. And they're always the ones speeding and then crashing in the winter.

Trucks in the city are stupid. Too big to park, shit on gas (in the city).

Trucks in rural areas make sense, as you likely do shit that needs a truck, still most people don’t need a truck.

Red necks live in rural areas.

Red necks drive trucks.

I’d love a truck lol. I’d also agree, some of the interior packages in these things is mucho impressiv-o.

JDMDreams 10-16-2023 06:55 PM

Do new trucks still death wobble?

Asian culture: pick up trucks = manual labour = low-class blue collar, lose face.

Doesnt matter if it’s a $130k raptor or a f350 platinum

RabidRat 10-16-2023 07:53 PM

^ I have to admit there's a part of me that bought the truck just to see the look on my mom's face.

"Only dirty laborers drive pickup trucks!!"

Highlight of last Christmas; drove 20+ hours just for the reaction lol!

Those eco boosts I mentioned are getting are getting better mileage than my G37 in the city.

Compare that to a modern car though. A G37 has never been the epitome of efficiency, but that goes with a lot of the “luxury” vehicles. I just compare to fuel efficient vehicles because I’m cheap :p. They “can” get similar mileage to tiny little RAV4 which is pretty impressive.

Now that I have a kid the extra room is nice, and if you're moving something that's dirty as fuck you just throw it in the bed and not think twice about it.

The only time it can get annoying is parking spots that are too small for even a regular size car. You get used to parking further out to where there's more space, but I did that back when I had a car too to avoid door dings.

i had a 2017 ram 1500 laramie from new....sold it just before it hit 5 years. loved that truck. miss it. drove great, lots of features and i could go anywhere or drive over things

sure my Q5 is nice but so was driving a big truck where people got out of your way on the highway and SSOOO much more room. now with a kid the q5 sucks.

Homeowner here who finally pulled the trigger on an F150 last year.

One word: Liberating.

Old couch the boy destroyed? She gone.

Tons of green waste from the yard that I can’t be bothered to hack down to bin size? Toss it in the box.

I’ve done plenty of dump runs. Cleared up a lot of garage space. I needed a truck and didn’t realize how much I did until I owned one.

Gonna have to disagree with underscore as well. I have the 3.5L ecoboost and it is fun as hell to drive (for me). Also scratching my head at the visibility comment. I can see why people are braking ahead and I’ve seen views from bridges that I didn’t know existed lol

Badhobz 10-19-2023 05:52 AM

do you truck owners ever feel guilty about just throwing crap into the box? if i spent 80k on a truck id be kinda hesitant / worried about scratching the box with crap.

especially when the crap im putting in the box is often garbage going into the dump

Also WTF is with the pricing of these f150's!? they start at 48k now!??! for a 2 seater with hubcaps?

4x2 not even a 4x4 and its almost 900 dollars a month on a lease. holy crap

Mine is Rhino lined so nope.

Great68 10-19-2023 07:27 AM

I've got the contoured plastic ford drop-in liner, so that's a nope for me as well.

I mean, our F150 is in my wife's name, so she has them all beat, No Pee Pee!

Badhobz 10-19-2023 07:40 AM

Also why an f150 or larger vs a smaller truck like a taco or a ranger? im not sure what the benefit of a bigger truck is unless you wanna tow something really heavy.
