That lazy fuck is like the worst car YouTuber ever. His videos have zero production value and lazy content.
Vs something like savagegeese who goes in depth both mechanically and performance wise or even throttle house boys who seem to be genuinely good people.
Demuro's doing something right with a successful YT channel and selling off Cars & Bids for $80M. I much prefer his writing as well, but like Evo said, no one reads anymore. My non-car friends generally find Doug more palatable because he doesn't go into the weeds on topics car enthusiasts care about (SavageGeese has that covered).
It's important to separate the Doug's YT persona from reality - he comes across much more normal in TST podcasts for example.

I still prefer Doug over The Straight Pipes
All I understand from Straight Pipes are continental tires and do the visors extend
SavageGeese is my go to for technical analysis
Throttle House for entertainment
And Hagerty for the visuals and story telling from Jason Cammisa

Lol yeah it's pretty formulaic. So much so that I wonder if they're just trying to train AI on their show and let it run autonomously at some point.
"Hi I'm Yuri, and I'm Jakub, and we're goin' for a drive."
*B-roll*
"Now we send it! With no launch control!"
"And what would be the recommended tire of choice from Continental?"
"The Sirius XM fast-forwards but doesn't rewind."
"Today's episode sponsored by Vincenzo fine watches."
"Oh no, piano black?!"
"Cupholder test: fits a Tim Hortons small coffee!"
"Visor test!"
"Box test!"
"Speaking of mats, TuxMats for all your mat needs!"
*Random bickering.*
"Hersperers and terks?!"
"Exit sax theme*
My other go-to channel for good relaxing background noise, is Sarah n Tuned:
Kind of a blend of silly Straight Pipes and technical SavageGeese (i read somewhere she's an ex- airforce mechanic, and she's been doing some pretty cool restorations on her other channel).

Throttle house 2.79m subscribers
Straight Pipes 1.68m subscribers
If memory serves me correctly, I believe it was throttle house that a million subscribers first. And in a desperate attempt for straight pipes to get there, they started pumping out 3 or 4 videos a week, right down to the point where it was the same car but a different trims.
At that point, I couldn't stand straight pipes and unsubscribed from them, it's way too linear, heavily shouting sponsors in your face, and it's the same bantering over and over again.
Not sure what the straight pipes channel is like now a days but it seems their subscriber count plateaued while throttle house continues to grow.
EDIT: Sarah's channel is pretty good, lots of different content from car reviews to rebuilding cars.

I kinda follow Sarah purely for the 1UZ Celica because I'd love to build one, so I haven't watched any of her other stuff, but I find her a bit annoying. The constant "for people who aren't professionals like me" "I'm the only person who would do this right, everyone else would take a shortcut" etc etc gets pretty old.

TIL! It did seem a little off, but didn't think she was actually. Kudos on a tastefully modded appearance: sometimes trans folks seem to wind up looking like a clapped out rice rocket with a muffler-delete voice.
She’s pretty cool. Looks a bit like a tranny but id still Hit it.
I never would have known if you didn't bring it up. By virtue of her interests I just assumed she leans on the masculine side of being a woman. I too, would also hit it.
^i dont know if she is a tranny or not, im just saying that she LOOKs like one. She's really tall so all her features are a bit stretched out and up close she's kinda scary looking.
I enjoy Sarah's videos and knew that part about her a while ago, but it doesn't take away from the content she puts out. Her humor/awkwardness she packs with her videos works for me - it's the right balance between entertainment and information.
I hope she keeps creating videos - on her livestream she frequently talks about her struggle trying to balance filming, editing, and working on the cars while also trying to appease the YT algorithm. It's not easy to do all of this when it's just her and her assistant working on the channel AFAIK.
Hopefully she'll get her hands on the EX30 when that's in the press rotation - I liked her take on the similar-sized Kona EV a while back.

She is trans - I googled it and she used to talk about it but got harassed so there's no mentions of it on her channel anymore. Just some forum posts from transphobes and similar bringing it up going way back.
There's a Volvo wagon in the street behind where I live. It looks so good. I don't know if it's a V60 or V90. Probably V60 I don't think I've ever seen a V90 in the wild.
