I think it's our priorities. I don't have kids yet so maybe that will change.

Last game I successfully played and finished was Final Fantasy 7 on PS1 and Untitled Goose Game on PC and Nintendo Switch. My track record for video games is poor so it's hard for me to justify spending $700+ on a console for a single game, plus whatever expenses required to get a sim setup.

It's also useful as a 4k UHD Blu Ray player if that's your thing. Those go for a few hundo I think.

only way i'll get a ps5 is if it's 2nd hand.
There are a lot of people strapped for cash, getting 4 games + ps5 for 450... then yeah.. i'll jump on it... fair market place right now is like 500 on FB marketplace... which i'll jump on sooner or later.

All these games are available on PC and they all run better + mods. I got a pretty beefy PC setup so it seems pointless to buy this ps5 and repurchase titles. The only thing I’d buy would be GT7 as I’ve stopped playing gran turismo since ps3.

I'm the opposite, almost everyone I game with (mostly in our 40's) has a PC even my 17 year old and most his friends prefer PC gaming to console and they've all been PC gaming the last 3 years so started around 14.

Yea I’ve been a pc gamer since the early 90’s but this is the first generation I didn’t build a new PC, I think eventually I’ll get somthing but I’m just kinda forcing my gaming back onto the PS5 lol

Some games like diablo, Baldurs gate, etc. I refuse to play with a controller so I’ll have a backlog once I get a new PC

Some pretty good deals like in the states the RTX 4090 R15 alienware pc was the same price as basically just the graphics card by itself.

With the new price increase premium is insane.

I think extra is OK value now but you have to actually play some of the games included to make it worth it. There are a bunch of AAA titles included though

Diablo 4 is pretty decent and entirely playable on the PS5. The only thing you really miss out on is the ability to type (to communicate with other players). But then if you are in the same party, most likely they will have their mics anyway, so you just chat through that.

Same here, I play a few games with mostly 30-40yo, everyone has PC. And I'm using a steam deck :alone:

I have extra and am a bigtime gamer. Yes, the price increase sucks ass but there's quite a few games that I was interested in playing that I didn't buy so when I saw them on extra, it justified the purchase. Ever since the price increase 2 months ago, there hasn't been anything good added. My extra subscription expires in January so we'll see if I decide to renew with extra or just the essential as I need it for multi player

Depends how many games you play and if you care about current gen or older games. I have middle tier because I only care about last gen and current gen.

Thought about buying a PS5 with Shoppers Drug Mart bonus redemption... but the price of titles + PS Plus + my dwindling attention span for games (and the fact that I already have a PC) don't make it too appealing. Honestly the only reason I was thinking of it was for GTA 6 multiplayer.

I wish they'd announce when they're planning the PS5 Pro, then at least you'd know if it's worth buying a PS5 right now.

I'd say it a worthwhile purchase, although this generation has been the the worst one I can remember.

Devs are still pushing out PS4 compatible turds, meanwhile the PS5 has been out for almost 4 goddamn years now.

is it me or did ps4 have the shortest run ever? i totally bypassed the system as i dont recall there was a single worthwhile exclusive title on it.

actually same with the PS5. The only title i wanted to play was Gran Turismo, nothing else exclusive. Almost all Triple-A titles are cross-platformed nowadays so it hardly makes a difference which consoles you buy or don't buy *unless you buy a switch*
